I just got my DV4000 w/ X700 ATI card. I tried to update to Mobile Catalyst 6.2, but when I run the tool on ATI's site, it say that my computer is not compatable?? Is there a way to update anyway or does HP have it locked to only use there drivers? I also heard of the Omega driver.. I game some, but don't really plan to OC, just want the most stable and best all around drivers.

For me the Omega drivers have always been the best performing and most stable drivers. They are particulary useful if you don't like the CCC interface like I do. You can get them from www.omegadrivers.net. To get the official drivers to work, you need to use the ATI Mobility Modder on them.

Does closing the lid have problems with anyone using the Omega Drivers?

Not that I know of. What sort of problems are you thinking of? You can set the laptop to stay on when you close the lid.

You should be able to close the lid and be able to wake from standby with the omegas. My v4000t had no problems with them.
