Hi all,
I am looking for a laptop and came across the dv5 serie with a Ati HD3450 graphic card. I also have a 22 inches external LCD with full HD resolution. Will my laptop be able to handle this resolution if I connect this LCD in dual screen ? What is the maximum resolution I can get out of this laptop ?
Thanks for your help,
Akira

From the first entry in a google search: supports up to 1920x1080 on HDMI, or 2650x1600 on VGA.

yeah well depends on what kind of graphical applications your planning on working on while plugged into the 22" LCD. to be honest the ati hd3450 is a mid range (almost on the border of mid range/low end) card and you wont get blazing fps on a graphic intensive app like a game on max resolution on your 22".

Hi,
No gaming actually. It is for the mother of my girlfriend ... so just excel, word and web surfing I guess. Maybe a movie from time to time. So if I understand correcty, the HD3450 should be able to handle the native (px) resolution of my 22 inches LCD for non demanding applications, should it ?
HerrKaputt : I also found that numbers but only for the "not laptop" version of the GPU. I thought it might be different for a laptop version with dual screen.
Thanks for your help,
Akira
