    HP dv8320 and everquest

    well i went out and got my self a laptop to bot any alts i have around and for the wife to use while iam on the main machine .but the dam thing its having the old SPEEDSTEP problem where it keeps clocking it down and up down and up causeing eq to not play at a proper lvl , it brings a seloed bard to a walk speed then run, walk run kinda deal really annoying as it effects casting times also sooooo i tryed turning the profile to always on like suggestedin the soe tech board ,tryed speedswitchxp wich will show it at max clock speed but dosent cure the stepping it still steps with this running ( kinda a bummer really. i got a HP 8320 with a 256meg gforce and 2gigs of ddr2 mem so i know it can run eq i know its not "chugging " due to low sys specs its the dam speedsteping , its all over the eq tech boards that intel based laptops with mobile chipset have this problem but no one really provides a fix lol has i know this i woudlnt of gotten it

    so before i take it back has any one encountered this speedstep slow chugg pluseing issue with eq and how did u fix it?

    do AMD based laptops work better for eq? any help would be great !

    oh ya i cannot acess the bios to turn if off eitehr if your thinking that HP seems to have it locked pasted changeing teh time and date LOL even tho iam the admin and have the pass to acess it /boggle

    what happens when you change the power profile from laptop to desktop in the power control panel?
