As someone said on the Technoviking movie, click the caption button and it plays fine lol. And 18 mins of Beat Hazard, friggin slow youtube.
-
So, is it done now?

Yes very seizure inducing
Adds difficulty not being able to see anything, especially enemy fire as it does not stand out.
You use any of your own music for the game though, so that is why its so neat. -

OK, the real video is done (yes for real)

Too bad random.org hates me. -
Congrats again to the winners, who I'm still envious of, and thanks again for making this happen sponsors! I hope this happens again, and that I actually win something next time! xD

Plus the have to know the mumble address. -
I hate to say it but I'm glad this is over. It was more work than I imagined, although I appreciate everyone being prompt in claiming their prizes. For the weekly giveaways only one hasn't been claimed yet, and that was the one for Just Cause 2 at the end, so pretty recent.
But I just hope it made people happy. Wish everyone could win, but not possible unless I win the lottery. -
-
This was great!
No, I didn't win any of the games I played for. And no, I'm not crazy. Just happy there were people that did win and most importantly, people that put time, money and effort in making something like this happen here.
Have a Merry Christmas, guys!
Cheers! -
Ok I got over the fact I lost now
Merry Christmas!!!
-
Congratulations to the rest of the winners and a big thanks to HTWingNut as well as the other donors and contributors! I really never expected this caliber of generosity when I first joined these forums to help me shop for a college laptop, but I can honestly say I'm pleasantly surprised. These forums have helped me make a lot of decisions, they've helped developed my knowledge of computers, and they've been a great source of information for anything gaming and computer related. And now, thanks to this community and the kindness of its members, I've been given an amazing Chirstmas present! Happy Christmas everybody!
-
Good. Glad you became a member and enjoy your game!
-
Hm... I should do one of these next year... If I have the money to do so >.>

Just imagine if a small percentage of NBR put $5.00 in each, we have thousands of members, if even 100 people put up $5 we would have lie a $450 pool of money (paypal eats money on donations thus not the full $500)
Problem is we can not ask for donations on NBR, infact I was rather surprised this whole time that a MOD did not ask for us to remove the paypal donations link here off the forums.
Once upon a time I had a "donate" thing to help fund reviews that I post and was asked to take it down.
You are however allowed to have a link to your website and on your website you can have a donations link/button. (My site has been up for like 2 years not and not yet have I got one donation lol)
You still cant ask for donations though on NBR even if you have it on your own site, so we will have to find a smart way to do it that wont violate the rules.
I will probably create a page on my website just for this and post it without mentioning or asking for donations and people can tune in and donate if they wish.
I will probably even create a separate paypal account just for this so it wont get tied into my own funds and just let the nest egg grow all year until its time to give away games again next year. -
You could have your front page with a big red flashing arrow pointing towards your donate button
jk but we'll see how it goes xD -
To htwingnut, ViciousXUSMC, Reizo and all the other people behind the scenes cooperating to make possible this giveaway:
Thank you for making possible such a fun giveaway and return some of us part of the thrill of christmas (will Santa bring me this...?).
Congrats to all the winners, and Merry Christmas to all NBR community (and their families too).
-
Thank you so much..
I would like to publicly thank HTWingNut, ViciousXUSMC, and all other donators in putting this drawing together, it's still somewhat a shock. I always thought of the NotebookReview forums as an excellent community of knowledgeable people, and great resource of information to assist my tech passion(especially enjoy reading Phinagle's in-depth posts), though I would've never expected this. Lately I've been having a very difficult couple months; I moved away from my family & friends to a completely different state, have been struggling to find a job & am trying to put together funds for tuition & books to continue college. I'm actually also moving tomorrow on the 23rd to a different apartment, as my current roommate turned out to be a drug infested doushe-monkey, which I refused to stand. This year is also going to be the first time I celebrate Christmas without my parents & family, essentially alone.
Though the excitement is still pumping through my veins as my game download continues on steam (tethering internet through phone, takes a while xD). I would have never thought I would've felt this way, I think I'm going to have a very enjoyable Christmas..

Im actually selling mine to update to the new model with the 120hz matte screen -
I hold the G73 in highest regard when it comes to value (your review has been one ive already read) :3. If im ever able to purchase a new laptop, that would most likely be it. The Alienware is just somewhat of a novelty for me, ever since the speculaton of the new design and its innevitable reveal back around june 2009 ive been following its development.
I would've definitely been interested in the G73 you're selling, but i honestly wouldn't be able to afford it, im sorry. :/ -

Ahh yeah I dont dabble in GPU tech much since its moving so slow right now.
Its pretty much GTX 460, GTX 480 and the 5870M and it has not gone anywhere in a long while.
The 480 seems to have bombed from a cost perspective, so most laptops are using the 460 instead. Makes me sad all the new G73's come with the 460. I prefer the 5870M that my JH model has.
Nvidia has to do better next wave with both performance and price if they want to catch up to AMD on the GPU market.
CPU tech has been slow too, though Sandy is around the corner finally.
I was going to get the 6 core i7 for my desktop but the non extreme version was not as cheap as I had hoped so it maybe more price effective to wait for the next gen CPU's past the i7 and upgrade then.
Can never have enough cpu power for video encoding, I had dreams about the 6 core i7 overclocked to 4ghz per core for like a month straight when I read about its release. -
I know what you mean about those dreams...ive been having those for a while now, just for the regular i7's though; or actually any new gpu iteration out there. My current setup usually plays on low settings with games. xD -
congrats to winners.
p.s why wasn't I eligible for this contest? -
hmm even after the contest, this thread seems to be the fastest growing thread ever
