We need to change the old entry so we do not have duplicates for the same user if possible.

If we miss a duplicate it would mean they have 2x more chances to win.

Either / or. We will have to scrub the spreadsheet anyhow before pulling winners. But good point, at least it will reduce chances of someone having multiple chances of winning.

You can enter every contest if you wish, but you can only win once per contest. No restrictions on number of games to win. It's 100% random so everyone has the same chance. Some people are just more lucky than others I guess. :\

You still have five more chances to win something.

I'm a little shocked as well. I played DA:O on the PS3, but from what I viewed, PC version is WAY better. Plus, who wouldn't want all the DLC of a game

 

Yes, sorry. I hate to do that. But I just can't have people bouncing in for a free game and then never contributing. This is really a thank you for everyone that has already been a member. I'm sure new people have lots to contribute, but I know too many people would take advantage of it. Sorry.

I've seen other forums give stuff away to members past a certain amount of posts, if that's what you meant ht. Or some combination of posts/signup date - some people like to lurk and post a little, others post anything on their mind a lot

Also, DA:O - I think a lot of people would also be interested in witcher 2, but that isn't unlocked until may. Why wait til may when you can get a good huge game and all its' xpacs/dlcs now...

 

I'm torn between Civ 5, FO:NV, Cod:Bo, and MoH.

Actually I emailed Blizzard to see if there's a way to gift a digital copy and there's not. Otherwise I would have made that an option. And I don't think many people would be up for giving up their actual mailing address.

 

I thought you could get a CD key to gift to somebody for them to download the client. Oh well, I like TF2 anyways.

 

My biggest problem with this contest (the final one, I'm skipping all but Rudolph) is that I have no idea which game I would pick...

The most important part is to enjoy, learn & help others to contribute to the community .... I joined here a year ago and learned TONS of stuff in that past year which will surely affect my hardware choices in the future and my choices of different computer related stuff

 

Right. I just happened to jump on the opportunity that Steam gave away all those gift packs. Plus a game or two I was going to give away in the end, but then several memebers, Reizo included, threw in a decent chunk of change to make it an even bigger pot for games.

Years' past there's always been members donating stuff. I won a contest that CompouterMD82 held last year. Since I was able to this year, I thought I'd give back.

This contest started Dec 1, which is why I put the November join date restriction. If I had a better way, I would, but I can't. It's hard enough to manage with all the entries, PM's, and occasional goofball that enters stuff in the form that shouldn't be there, mistakes made, etc. And bugging moderators to check for exact join date, etc. If you put number of posts, then you can get people spamming the forums just to reach the number of posts, and how many posts do you make it? You'll have people complaining about the post restriction. There's members with 20 posts, but been a member for a year, but made several very helpful posts. I can't restrict them. I don't want to single anyone out, but I wanted to give back to the community that has been very helpful to me. That was the cleanest and easiest way I saw for setting up a restriction. Thanks for understanding.

Probably because it's a newer game that sells for 60$, but isn't quite worth 60$. Worth closer to 40$ imo, which is what a lot of people got it for from d2d
