Half Life 2 as a gift, anyone interested ?

Have got 1 copy of Half Life 2 to give away as a gift on steam.

Never really liked the game so anyone here interested ?

Lets be fair, its for those who haven't played the game or don't have it.

the only HF games i have played are on console, its ashame i may try and get steam but im off line most of the time, as my internet screwed up so i canceleld it no point getting it again as im going to uni in 4 months

 

no the story mode.. my friend wont let me use his steam account anymore.. i never really finished the game

Well you buy using credit cards, paypal, mastercard.... (that is if you want to buy directly from steam). Otherwise you can buy hard copies and install them normally and enter the license code in steam to activate

well i cant now, but will do tomorrow. if ya willing to keep hold of it til then ive asked this before but just to make sure can the games be played offline i mean play games without have to access the internet first

No, it's not possible to play the games w/o access to the Internet. Lame, I know, that's one of the reasons I dislike Steam. Even in "offline mode" it just says that you have to be connected to the Internet to play. What you CAN do though, is connect to the internet once, put your laptop to sleep or hibernate, and then come back and play

Lolx i want one too... For me is even harder because in my country is really hard to get a credit card that allow to buy in dollars (political issues... it sucks... i cannot buy any game through steam, and games here are more or less the double than their original price... around 100$ for game)

 

i've never played counter strike or half life 2 before, the only FPS i've played so far is COD4, I just got started on PC gaming, does anyone have some extra gifts they want to give away? TIA

Something is very wrong with your Steam installation, unless you are talking about playing multiplayer games.

I use Steam in Offline mode when I go on road trips with my laptop. I never use sleep or hibernate, only shut down. I haven't had a problem playing the games coming from a cold boot in offline mode.

 

yup steam games will work on offline mode aslong as you have your user credentials saved for auto-login.

 

He's not entirely wrong though, I couldn't use my games offline either at one point during a road trip because I had no internet connection. So it does happen at some point.

 

Interesting. It could be because I've had friends log in with their accounts, but that's still weird because my Steam normally auto-logs in. You're probably right though, I may have had to have put in my password that time.

Still, I'm not too crazy about all of these restrictions.

 

You can always just create a shortcut to hl2.exe from the game directory and add -nosteam to the launch parameters, at least for Valve games.
