    whats the diffrence between:

    Half Life 2
    Half Life 2: Episode One

Im looking at steam to buy one of them... and episode one cost 10 bucks cheaper.. and neither include CS:S or any other source game...

    Is the store the same?

    Thanks in advanced,
    HCanciano

you should go to the wal-mart and get a value pack. I got one for my b-day i got half-laife, half-life deathmatch andhalf-life 2 and half-lie 2 lost coast and counter strike source. For $30 but episode 1 is the expansion onto halflife 2. So you definately want to get half-lie 2 irst

Yeah, you need the original Half-Life 2 before you can use HL Episode 1.

I second the idea of going to Wal-Mart and getting the Half-Life value pack, it brings HL, HL2, HL2 :Deathmatch, HL2 Lost Coast, and Counter Strike Source.

    :)

and I highly recommend those games, I recently bought them myself and I love them!

No you dont need to have HL2 to play HL2:EP1, you can buy EP1 and play it just fine without having HL2. Now you dont want to do that because EP1 is a continuation of the story, and you wont have any idea whats going on unless you have HL2. So like said before go out and get the valuepack or whatever, and get HL2 and EP1. Yeah it will cost some money, but believe me HL2 is one of the best FPS's ever made, it is definitly worth it. Its like the PC's halo times 10.

i suppose you could settle for HL2: game of the year instead of value pack.

Yeah the GOTY edition is good, its what I have. Definitly a great game.
