yeah i just watched those today....I cant wait!!

Wow, amazing games I can't wait to play these. Do you have to have episode 1 to play episode 2. I just want portal and team fortress.
-
you dont have to have episode 1 to have episode 2, but if wanna know whats going on you should play through each episode in order. The "episode" series is considered stand-alone, meaning you dont even have to own HL2 to play them.

I played Episode One and thought it was fantastic. Can't wait for this one . . those videos make it look even better. Thanks for the linkage Jack.

Portal looks amazing... the physics possibilities are mind-boggling.

If Valve really pull off this Potal thing, they will definitely be quite ahead of the other companies in the gaming industry.
-
I get a kick out of the Team Fortress video. I crack up every time I watch it.
Whoever Valve hired for their marketing/PR of HL2:EP2 is doing a great job.
-
Portal wasn't made by Valve. It's a 3rd party mod.

the cell shading on team fortress 2 does look realy good imo!
and portal just looks mind boggling! i cant fathom how they did that in real time! -
The actual Portal Rendering has already existed for a very long time. It's just that Valve has managed to allow the gamer to render portals at their free will. Add in the Source engine and the final product looks amazing.
-
hmm...looks like i gotta get started on HL2, and HL2 episode 1. haha. i never have time to play
-
Wow that portal video boggled my mind. I'll have to give that game a try, but it looks like something that will take alot of computer and brain power
Looks really fun though.

i know portals in games have existed for a long time, but being able to create ones at the users will, that objects can fall through keeping there momentum combined with motion blur must lag like the monkeys!
quick calculation
motion blur, lets say they use a 3 frame blur, for every frame you see your gpu generates 3 frames, so at 60fps your generating 180fps..
am i right? or do they use some other form of motion blur..
