It will probably be a Nintendo DS only title or something stupid like that. Kick us PC gamers in the shin and shoot us with a squirt gun...

From the Looks of it... it's more like:
    Status - ///
    Status - //
    Status - /

Anyway, they must have started working on it by now...
    next gen consoles?

The disclaimer at the bottom claimed it was an attempt to spoof steam users.

    next gen consoles.
I got a feeling that it's similar to CryEngine 3.

Where it runs amazing on both console and PC, if Xbox 720 is coming out next year then it would make a great cross-platform title especially with the extra horsepower.

Of course hl3 is coming. They would be insane not to continue the story. Question is when. My money is on when they feel there is a significant enough jump in hw power to make a big impact.

Looks more like Portal 3 than HL3. Saw the postmortem of Portal 2 video and they mentioned a few concepts that they would like to use in 'future games'.

I'm sure that they will make a Half Life 3. The ending of Half Life Episode 2 is really open, - it would be really strange if they don't finish it. On the other hand; The story is really complex and therefore it is hard to find a proper ending. Maybe they don't dare to make the ending of the story because of the pressure of the community?

I think I read some where that HL3 is taking so long because it'll use a new source engine. But wasn't the point of "Episodes" was that there would be more frequent releases?

The problem is they kept adding new features to the Source engine which delayed the "episodes". Why not just leave the Source engine "as-is" and release new levels/content. It was just silly.

The thing is, that a new engine IS required. I mean really? The Source engine is dying.. it might look good if polished here and there but reaching CryTek level is impossible.

If Half-Life 3 wants to deliver the goods, it requires the story, I would assume they've done that already, but to make it better than it already is one would have to create new visuals, these visuals require a new engine.. they just do.
    - We've reached the point of equilibrium with the Source Engine now, so Source Engine 2.. where are you??? :D

I'm ok with a new Source engine for a full new game, but for episodes, the major enhancements/improvements weren't really necessary.

I am assuming that you won't be seeing Half-Life 3 as a "new game" :p we'll see, I'm insane anxious

I do see it as a new game. Just don't expect any more episodes, obviously.
