Hey mate, quick question, I'm presuming you're using an SLI setup here; did you have any issues getting CM10 to run in SLI, and if not what drivers/settings are you using? With FPS running in the 120 region, I'd presume you're not just using one card

I got a query a little earlier about CM10 and SLI, but without having a laptop to try it out on just yet, it was virtually impossible for me to answer with 100% surety.
Not to mention if you can answer stops me having to check it out myself and I can be lazy

 

There are various choices of skins for Alyx, last I checked in V9.51 there were about 10 different versions, you can choose whichever one appeals to you most, they dont all look the same.

 

been playing it but every now and again at a loading section my steam stops responding and crashes to desktop,Its frustrating as i am getting sucked in all over again.It happens in all the volumes plz help!!

 

I don't know. It looks nice but its still the source engine. Poor thing has been showing its age recently. Nice to see some kind of content for HL2 since valve forgot about it.

 

what is wrong with the downloads?
ive downloaded the file twice and the zip files are both corrupted.

This thing is awesome. Very Cool. I'm on Episode 1 now. Used the character pimper and is nice to see changes in the models as you progress through the saga. Anyone saw the sneak peak of 10.1? It looks incredible.

SLI doesn't run. I am using just 1 card then, but the performance is great. Little hiccup here and there but really minor. All maxed out.

Too bad that when I Print Screen it only copies my desktop and not the game. (No Fraps for me, I don't run anything else if I am playing).

People should really try this thing.

No. You in fact need Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2 to use this mod.

Oh, and the Mod is 12GB, but needs 20GB to install.

Guess those are one of the things he's added in v10, I'll be interested to see what else has been added since 9.51.

Look like a combination of the old combine, the re-designed cylons and Darth Vader. Certainly more sinister, will have to see how they 'feel' combined with the atmosphere changes in this version.

THis sucks i founded this thread,with hopes i could get stuck into this game again,but steam crashes on the load levels in game with the mod activated.Something along the lines of steam has stopped reponding,Is it becauce i am running this on a 32 bit os?
When it does run i really wanna play,ive tryed to play on the vanilla but its just not the same

I'm pretty sure you gotta use a 64-bit OS with at least 4GB Ram.

 

Yeah, it was built with 64bit in mind. I think it's a crapshoot for 32bit, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just make sure you have both patches in, 10.01 and 10.02.

And use the shortcuts from your start menu, not the link through the Steam program.

The links for HL2 through steam play the vanilla game. For the mod, you have to use the links installed to your start menu.

 

Sooo overrated, imo

 

Whilst you may think HL2 is overrated, the simple fact is this mod is anything but. The sheer amount of work, changes and tweaks are almost unparalleled when it comes to anything beyond total conversion mods.

Sit HL2 vanilla next to this and it readily becomes apparent which is which very quickly, FakeFactory advances the games 3-4 years in graphical terms, and along with the other tweaks it makes a massive difference.

If you're calling the mod overrated, then Id suggest you have no idea A) How much this mod changes HL2, episode 1 and episode 2 and B) How much work has gone into it.

 

I Love HL and HL2. I played the Ver. 4 Fake Factory CineMod a couple years ago. Although this looks different, I am not entirely convinced it looks any better than V4? So if you are looking for a slimmer download and an Alyx skin job that looks good (along with a Skinning App), check out the last update to V4.

 

I think he meant the mod - I'm of the same opinion. This isn't new, same thing happened with the HL1 engine, and it resulted in just 500 megs of over-ratedness. For some I could see this being the clincher, but for gamers more focused on gameplay, it's merely fluff (the core engine remains the same) and personally I think mascara and Michael Jackson's 'Thriller Jacket' has no place amidst a post-apocalyptic rebellion (yes yes I know there are other models to choose from, etc, but it's still overrated).
