I'm not looking at previews of Halo3, because I don't think I'm going to buy a 360 until they come out with the smaller 60 nm Xenos GPU's, introduce the HD DVD drive capability they've been bragging about for two years, and slash the price.

Also, I want it in black.

Nope. I disagree. Microsoft's Halo 2 page shows a preorder button and says the release date is "Summer of 2007."

    Meh.

Halo and halo 2 are fun.. but i think halo is one of the most over rated franchises.

Halo revolutionized the FPS, atleast for me and everyone I know who likes these types of games. At first I didn't want to believe the hype, and found the controls initially odd to adapt to while coming from Bond64 and Red Faction etc...but wow they were so much easier to navigate, and the game flow was high adrenaline.. after one night I was hooked. Halo 2 was even better. Halo 3 here we come!

The release date and prices for Halo 3 have been revealed. Check it out below.

US Release Date: [Tuesday] September 25, 2007
Release Date for everyone else: [Wednesday] September 26, 2007
    Prices:
    Basic: $60
    Limited Edition: $70
    Legendary Edition: $130

I feel the Legendary Edition is ridiculously overpriced... but I think despite the steep cost it will sell pretty well... it's a popular game and has been much anticipated...

    On a side note:
A "Halo 3 themed Zune" will be available "next month" for $250.

The Legendary Edition isn't overpriced.. have you even seen it?

you get your own Master Chief helmet, and 4 discs.. that's pretty sweet.

That's only worth getting the legendary version IF you can wear the helmet while you play( or to random parties/holloween). It looks like it's just a hood ornament, so that's not much fun. Looks like I'm getting my new 360 before the end of september now

    Heh man...

Anyone else been playing the beta? Got a few rounds in, it feels... different.

Getting my ass kicked as I haven't played an FPS on the 360 yet and it's been forever since I've played Halo1 and 2.

Saw some beta footage, looks and feels exactly like Halo2 :(

Hopefully they'll change some stuff before the official release.
