Just wanted to be one of the first to say this. :)
    • When was the first time you played it?
    • Whats your best personal memory(s) of this great and legendary game?

    For me....
I have been playing Tetris ever since I got it with my first GameBoy (the original version that started handheld gaming boom). It is the game that I have always known, it is the game that I always come back to, and it is the game that I can relate to everyone with. :)

    Happy Birthday, Tetris :notworthy:

    Puzzle On People,
    Gophn

P.S. A birthday thread in the Gaming section FTW !!! :D

I remember playing tetris on my Nintendo way back in the day... I was like 4 or 5. I remember stacking everything as high as possible, but the one slot on the side, and sending the skinny line shape down there for killer points. My sister-in-law and I would call it a "cha-ching" cuz of the sound it made.

WOW! 25 years? I remember when it was released. I also bought an original Gameboy mainly to specifically play that game.

There was one head to head gameplay option that I liked too. When you dropped, say, 3 rows, it would raise your opponents 3 rows with random blocks at the bottom of their stack. So you were constantly trying to get the most rows to bump them up. Great fun.

I used to play it before college exams too. It would sharpen my thinking skills, at least that's what I told myself.

I know a few people that does not like Tetris either.

    Nothing wrong with that. :)

Maybe you like another classic puzzle game... like:
    - Tetris Attack
    - Columns
    - Puzzle Bobble (US: Bust-A-Move)
    - Klax
    - Dr. Mario
    - Magical Drop :D
    .... etc....

First ever game I saw being advertised when the game boy made its debut in stores. To this day there's still something addictive about piling up bricks into sorted lines.

I have always wondered about this: How did Nintendo get the rights for Tetris from Soviet government, without paying?

    ???

First time I played this was when I was very young. I don't remember when, but it was somewhere in the 90's! I could easily play it for hours at once.
