I was just wondering if anyone has broken the 4000 3Dmark06 barrier with an 8400M GT.
All i got to say is that im getting pretty close.
With my superclock profile i managed to hit 3700+ marks with my clocks set to 650/731.
Ill consider OC'ing my CPU to reach my goal![]()

What kind of temps are you getting with that kind of overclock ??? God Bless
-
yes, what is the gpu temp esp........
just curious...... -

And how about a picture as well...?
-
It will look something like this @ 4000pts. No need for temp guages

lol at the pic flipfire. I have an FZ-15G with an 8400m gt. Overclock it sometimes when i feel like it to 650/<800 and the temps are like 50-58. But I think that they would be higher had I not undervolted my processor. I think it runs much cooler and efficiently now that its undervolted to 1V always

Wow, 4k? I thought even the 8400m GT only got under 2k. I wouldn't even think it could reach 4k in 640x480..
What is the average STOCK 3dMark06 score of that card anyhow? -
Flipfire: Dell 600m? That entire series (Inspiron 1100/5000/600m) was a big pile of fail. I had a 5150 with a Pentium 4-M 2.8 GHz and it would nearly hit 80 C, which on that processor was far beyond healthy.

What he said. -
ntune has a CPU oc thing, my CPU doesnt go past 2.4ghz

I only got 72C while running 3Dmark06...with my Superclock profile (650/731).
With my Overclock profile (600/731) i get max 75C when playing games..
IMO its really not hot at all...
Stock Score is : 2750+ ... -
You will never reach 4000, but good luck trying. You'll fry something soon, so please be careful.

With my "casual OC", I can reach 3100-3200 easily, and that is with T7200. With much better CPU, I think it's possible - that is with 1280x800, though. But then, there's no point doing that- even "casual OC", I only do that for few situations. Sure, I know both shader and RAM can go quite a bit higher than this (core, not so much - unlucky me) - but I don't think it worths the effort/risk.

I get pretty good scores with my 8400GT. I am extremely happy with this discrete power-horse!
-
The 8400M GT & the 8600M GS are pretty much the same cards... so with a crazy overclock...

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I've never understood folks "playing" 3d mark, its useful to diagnose if your haedware is running the way it should, but beyond that, chasing numbers really is pointless, stability and playability of games should be paramount, not the blasted 3dMxx score.
Has anyone broken the 4k barrier with 8400M GT?
