As the title says, has anyone played planetside 2 on an alienware m11x r1? Results? I'm getting quite awful framerate even on low, but I can run things like Skyrim/Mass Effect 3 on max settings. I'm curious if this is just an optimization issue or what?

Skyrim and ME3 on max settings at 1366x768 with the GT 335m? The 335m is not much more powerful than the HD 4000 IGP in the Ivy Bridge CPU's. In any case it's likely a driver issue.

Yes, I can run both at max settings, with a little bit of stuttering here and there. In any case, I should be able to at least play planetside 2 with everything set to LOW, but for some reason the framerate goes to crap as soon as I get into a battle.

And if it is a driver issue, I think I'm screwed, because the Nvidia drivers from their site will not install on the Alienware m11x. I wonder if one of the older drivers from the dell website would fix the problem?

I play EVE Online on an m11x r1 and it is very smooth even with bloom effect on. Try the drivers with modified INI files from laptopvideo2go.

It's a cpu issue - I had an m11x as well, and it's the same reason you can't play battlefield 3 on it very well - You need a quad core 2 ghz processor, and an ati radeon hd 6-7000 / nvidia gtx 4-600 series card to play this game properly on a laptop

Wow, the m11 is a little impressive machine for its price! Never thought it would hold against newer titles like Skyrim...
