I run my 8800GTX at 580/1500/970 from 500/1250/800
If i go any higher on the core or shader it downclocks to half speed. I did download powermizer switch and it saus powermizer is disabled when plugged in. I run the the mobile 258.96 drivers found from nvidia.com
I know many people with this card that runs it on better clocks, how can i make it run at higher clocks without making it downclock?

Have you tried PowerMizer Manager
PowerMizer Manager | Some More Bytes -
Yes i did, and it says powermizer is disabled. Now i run it on 550/1500/950 and it still downclocks to half speed if i play a game for 15 min. It also does not go over 70 degrees

You must be triggering some kind of failsafe. Have you tried bumping the voltage up slightly?
-
I think that's the problem with my 9600M GS.
It had original clocks of 425/400/1075. I upped it to 650/510/1600 and if I go any higher on either of the three clocks it'll downclock to about half.
I think the problem is with the voltage. Because normally it gets 1V, but then once I checked it again after the switch GPU-Z showed that its down to 0.89.
I think voltage definitely has a factor in this. -
I read that the Clevo M570 have troubble with downclocking and the only way to fix it is by using old 167.xx drivers...
can anyone help me find a new vbios for this laptop? -
Yes I am here, I have the bios for both my 8800m GTX SLI GPU´s. Though not sure if it works on the Clevo 8800m GTX. I can give the bios to you and you can compare them both in nibitor.
Or does the Clevo have a new vbios for the 8800m GTX SLI. Flashing is really easy. -
it runs stable now but i had to lower the clock to 550/1450/900 but at least it does not downclock
-
How can i increase the voltage on a laptop GPU=?
It still downclocks, is there anything else i can do? -
You need to flash the vBIOS to a higher voltage. You change the voltage with a program called Nibitor.
You can use GPU-Z to save your vBios to your desktop. Then load it into the the Nibitor program, then go to Voltages> up the voltage 1 notch above what it it currently set too.
Then flash your vBios with nVflash.
It's fairly easy really. -
It says NVflash does not work with win7 64...
I found a guide here but it looks kinda risky
How to Flash Your Nvidia Bios with Vista x64 with a Flash Drive
1.) Download Winimage
2.) Download BootDisk2BootStick
3.) Download DOS 6.0
4.) Download New Bios
5.) Download NvFlash
a.) Double click on nvflash.exe to unpack the real nvflash.exe and cwsdpmi.exe
6.) Install Winimage
7.) Open Winimage and open up boot600
8.) SaveAs Floppyimage.img
a. You have to select all file types and save it like that
9.) Open BootDisk2BootStick
10.) Click the WritetoUsbFlash Tab
11.) Select the Drive Letter for your Flash Drive
12.) Click Start
13.) Select our Floppyimage.img
a. We now have a bootable flashdrive
14.) Rename the New bios to 1.rom
15.) Copy 1.rom onto Flash Drive
16.) Copy cwsdpmi.exe and nvflash.exe onto Flash Drive
17.) Boot computer from flash drive
18.) Type in nvflash –b backup01.rom
19.) Type in nvflash -4 -5 -6 1.rom
20.) Reboot, You’re Finished -
I used it no problem in Win 7 64.
