OK, I know how a lot of people are in forums so I'll mention this first before anything.
I HAVE THE LEGITIMATE COPY!!!
![]()
and my disk isn't scratched or anything it's brand new and I just bought it today.
But I'm keep getting disk reading error messages.
I tried copying the files from the disk to the HDD but it doesn't work.
I think i may have messed up the optical disk drive registry when i was working with multiple OSs with the VMware Workstation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

reformat your laptop?
install Warhead from an external DVD drive? -
yeah what brian said
unless of course, you're telling the truth, see if other cds work. if it other cds work, ask for a refund from where you bought it from

Faulty cd. I had the same thing when i bought the original crysis:\ Just exchanged it for another one, in store, and it installed fine.
You might also want to take a note of the error message(specifically the error number) I'm sure if you google it you'll find alot of info on the problem -
I had issues installing my copy, it would just click and clack in the drive, and show no progress (stuck on 7% or something). Tried about 2 or 3 times, then decided to just let it do it's thing, and sure enough after about 15mins of clicking, it started showing progress, and it installed fine.
Not sure if that's what going on with yours, thought I had a bad disc, but just try leaving it alone for a while. Hope this helps -
Do you seriously believe that I would go through all those complicated steps of getting the information of how the CD looks like and photoshopping just to get an aswer from the forums? I'd rather buy a copy instead of wasting my time like that. Or i could just go to forums where people post stuff on piracy. Do you have any ability to think? Please GROW UP.
killeruio you're not any better than brian either. You just see some dude dissing a person just because he thinks that person has an illegal copy, and u automatically decided to jump on the bandwagon. You might have done it for fun, but it really hurts me you know.
Post ur thoughts after you give it a thought at least three seconds. I'm reporting you because I'm mad. I hate it when people assume I'm lying -
Please keep the posts constructive.
Its best you try and solve the DVD drive's registry problem first instead of trying other methods. Your gonna need to fix this sooner or later anyway.
What happens when you insert the disc? or any disc? -

Also, check to see if there are any firmware updates for your DVD drive.

Maybe try to slow down the dvd`s speed.
Most games and such are written at stellar speeds, and might cause skips.
Nero can slow it down... -
Lol, sorry for the bump, but i never got around to fix this problem. I installed warhead using the external hard drive. I purchased CoD WAW, now i can't install it. I got Nero 8 to slow down the DVD's speed but i have no idea how.
Also, when i put in discs (any discs) it will read, but when i try to copy the files inside it, it would give me the reading error messages. -
I had the same problem when I bought Warhead where it would get to a certain spot (between 7-15%) and would cease to work.
And for some unknown reason, I re-installed the original Crysis and the tried installing Warhead again...that time it worked. Maybe it was a fluke? I don't know, but it worked for me. -
When I try to install Crysis warhead I get this error:
The installer cannot find D:\\Tools\Crysis Warhead(R)_code.exe!
This is my driverVD RW AD-5170A ATA Device
but I don't think that my driver is the problem because crysis wars installed just fine............. can anybody please tell me what to do?
And no, my disk isn't scratched... I bought it today.... at 17.38(±)....... -
driver is DVD not VD xd

crysis warhead always takes about 25 minutes to install for me I think thanks to all the securom rubbish on it. The cd stops about 1/4 through for ages, usually taking it out mid-install then jamming it back in gets it going again
