Project Offset was a monumentous project that attractd the attention of Intel who bought the engine and the IP. This was to be the tech demo game for Intel's Larrabee. When Larrabee was scrapped for the time being, so was Project Offset.

The developers went their own ways. Some went on to form Adhesive Games. They showed off their upcoming Hawken at GDC and it's already garnered praise such as, best looking Indie game!

Indie does not have to mean it will look like Super Meat Boy (regardless of how awesome it is), Limbo (pray it will be ported to PC) and others like it. Well here it is. I thought fans of Mecha games might be interested.

The video was captured from a live network match, first person obviously first person, the 3rd person views from spectator. Remember this is not even Alpha, it's work in progress.

Well if the do seek further funding for the game, no doubt they have learned to not sell the IP to the game and retain ownership. They tried even with contacts at Intel to regain the rights to Project Offset but failed. And with all those years gone working on the engine and game, their sentiments probably matches yours!

There can never be too many mech games IMHO, as long as it gives you the feeling you're inside a massive mech and not a super limber gymnast. I miss the old MechWarrior games. Wasn't there supposed to be a revamped MechWarrior too? Not to mention some mod based on the original CryEngine?

Oh my, that's a beautiful game. If they need funding maybe they can go the Minecraft or Interstellar Marines route.

Last I heard about that MechWarrior reboot they hit some sort of legal snag and haven't heard anything since. The Crysis mod has been out for a while though.
