I have a 8600m gt card and i just want to know if it is possible to get audio through the hdmi. This is for a g1s laptop
-
I think that and hdmi to hdmi connections will transfer sounds. So i think your good.

i know it is possible but does this card support it. i dont get any sound right now... is there any thing i can try. Isn't like the sound card handling audio and the graphic card is the one outputting through the cable

did you go to the control panel in sound and habilitated the HD sound output?
-
You should really ask this question on the Asus forum they could probably help you more there.

I has nothing to do with the video card at all (in the case of a laptop anyways) but the motherboard and soundcard used inside the laptop.
The G1S does have audio thru the HDMI however it probably wont default to it, you have to manually go to your control panel and set digital sound out for the audio.
For the record so does the C90S from Asus and all of there other high end laptops that I know of. -
My Acer 5920G has audio through the HDMI connection but you have to enable it in the Realtek HD audio manager, so look at your audio settings.
