Hellgate London Players Unite!

This is a thread to let anybody in the forums know if you are playing the game and give your character name to be added to a friends list (upon the games release it is my understanding that you cant add friends to your list that are offline unfortunately so this is a good place to schedule a meeting of NBR players to team up and get to be friends)

I will be a summoner and if we get enough people together that like to play together I will be a healer type and do support.

hehe saw the post on steam just a few mins ago.. heck yeah that game is going to rock my socks.

 

Engineer. Got my game today,(not release date even LOL), but I won't have time til Friday, then Monday, then....argh. My busy schedule will make me a casual player

 

I'll be playing once I receive the game. I was playing the Engineer in the beta but at this point I am open to the other classes since I have no idea how they're going to play.

Btw, there was a rumor that FSS was going to open the servers up yesterday so that those of us who beta tested could get our characters out there and ready for the big launch tomorrow. Can anyone confirm this?

 

No idea, I'm almost done installing, I'll update if it works.

edit: Nope, servers are offline. I can't download the patch neither. Off to class for me

 

I'm starting as soon as the servers come up--I managed to get three days off in a row for the first time in a month or so!

ETA: It's here! I'm installing now. The CE is worth it just for the gorgeous box . . .

My game should be in tomorrow just got the automated call from gamestop saying it comes in tomorrow evening I just hope evening is not literal because I just want to go get it when I get off work tonight and be done with it. Not fighting Halloween traffic and losing sleep before work.

Beta comes back up tomorrow aswell so those who cant get the game right away can still play, I only hope its a midnight launch (I seriously doubt it) but that will give me a good night at work.

I'm Imogen, Imogin, or Annahra atm. There's only one server up as of when I created my characters.

Got to lvl6 and found two legendary items, a chest armor and a sword, both for Guardian/Battlemaster, argh.

Soon as retail servers are up i'll play, server of choice seems to be abbadon. Most likely a marksman named Vaath, i should probably test them all in single player first though see which i'm best at.

 

I just played to level 6. I don't want to do too much in case I can't transfer this character to a real server. And I'm still hoping to get my name when the new ones launch (hopefully at midnight ET).

They haven't been really clear about how/if we can transfer our beta accounts to retail to the best of my knowledge.

 

I am pretty sure the announcment was offical. I remember reading a ping0 members post about how beta opens for everybody to play incase they cant get the game right away and that every thing transfers to retail but you still have the beta restrictions (lvl 22 max ect)

 

As well, you guys gonna use the built in xfire voice communication server or an external Ventrilo one?

 

I've never used Xfire . . . Always Vent. I suppose it doesn't really matter though--will depend on who I'm playing with.

Vicious, I want to make sure that I can update my beta login so I get my CE edition pet. And I'd like to get my name on a different server and then level that character if I can.

 

Im thinkin bout buyin the game but ive still got a few questions. I used to be quite addicted to Diablo 2 and i was wondrin from you guys, is it good and how is it compared to the old diablo games? And what is the exact situation with online play and payment?

 

Well to me it's a mix between Diablo 2, Halflife, and Quake 4.

Gameplay is Diablo 2 for the drops, character building, and weapons development only with a ton more options.

The game really struck me as a dark and gloomy Halflife as far as the level design goes.

And the monsters remind me of Quake 4 with the contorted muscled look to them. You will of course find some throwback monsters from Diablo 2 but obviously with updated looks.

All in all I'm thinking this will be just as addicting as Diablo 2.

 

the only thing that turns me off from buying this game is the guns and stuff, the only role playing games i mess with are the fantasy sort and not the sci-fi stuff..

 

The dark and gloominess is not very well done, well, it's a bit TOO dark. In the tunnels and stuff, things ZERG at you and you don't know cause you can't see a thing LOL!

While it's annoying, it's definitely cool, I played with a friend and we rushed in, I aggro'ed the whole room(hahaha) and we just let it loose in the dark

 

You can play as a blademaster and use swords the whole time, or as an evoker and cast spells. You don't have to take advantage of the FPS side of it unless you want to. I'm personally not a big FPS person either.

 

Well I was hoping to get my shipped notice from Amazon today but I did not and when I checked the site I seen that it's not going to ship until the 5th with delivery by the 12th. Not cool. Since I'm not sure if my account is tied somehow to the purchase off Amazon I'm a bit reluctant to cancel it and just go buy it retail. At least I can still play with the beta and hope everything transfers over once I get the hardcopy.

 

I can't wait to play this, the demo was way to short for me, ended up being able to beat it in like 15 minutes. Chances are i won't be able to play this until this weekend, unless i get it tommorrow. Chances are im going evoker or summoner, i was always a sorceress/druid kinda guy in diablo. name will probably be Zidan (WoW name also ) and my soccer hero.

 

Things like beta codes, founder offers, dye kits, etc are tied to where you ordered from, but you can use any registration key with them. If you've already entered any beta / promo codes you've received in the account area on the Hellgate website then you could cancel your Amazon order, buy it from another retailer, and then use the registration code from the game you physically have with your account.

Once I get the game to work I'll be on as Bruci or Bruciand (wow name, also).
I installed and played the single-player for a couple of hours with 2 different classes. I enjoy the game thusfar so I decided to try out the multi-player but I can't connect to the servers. So my question is are the servers up and running for people who didn't preorder the game?

 

The servers should be up for everyone since the game is officially released as of today. If there are any large scale problems with the servers they should post something about it on www.hellgatelondon.com

Edit: Well perhaps they are experiencing problems since the site says:

That link didn't work for me. i got the Http 404 error. I also got this error after following an in-game link to the website when i tried to visit the forums. Just another tidbit of info and any comments would be appreciated, when i tried to run the single-player for the first time i got a message stating my comp didn't meet the min requirements and I was forced to d/l an update for Vista.

 

Well HellgateLondon.com is down and so is HellgateGuru.com but I know the beta servers are up I was playing last night and earlier today.

I got my game today and tied my retail code to my account but the subscription option is down right now. So I put in my retail disk and went to install it and all it did was launch the client. So I think if you have the beta client intalled you dont have to install it again with the retail disk, however I still only have the Slugoth server and I think thats a beta server.

Maybe I have to uninstall the client competly and install it again from the disk, or its just there servers having issues. Looks like they were not completly ready for launch (doesnt supprise me).

 

Yeah, I uninstalled the beta client and did a fresh install yesterday to get everything to work. Servers are definitely pooped out right now.

 

They are doing an update to make the Halloween content for everybody not just subscribers. lets see how long they are down.

Timing is definitely not there strong point... server maintenance on weekends and now this...

 

Wow if that's true, that's really, really stupid. What a time to patch.

I was hoping they'd make the Halloween content available to everyone. To get that as a payoff I'm ok with a bit of a wait.

Ok I finally got in n retail multiplayer, how far do I have to go from starting area before I start seeeing real people?

 

Not far. Before level 2, or a bit over level 2.

 

I got my zombie guy made, I have yet to find the flaming mask haloween item (wich is what I wanted the most +94 luck on that thing and it looks cool)

The servers were up not too long after my last post. I got up to lvl 17 now as a summoner and I didnt even put any points into carnagor, I am a pure elementalist @ lvl 17 I have 4 fire elemental, 1 spectral, and 3 force. Things are dying pretty fast.

I found a bug that works to my advantage I have 2 guns with the skill "summon witchdoctor" so I equip them to summon the witch doctor demon and its supposed to cost 60 power to summon by the time I have my elementals out I have like 0 power and it lets me summon it anyways so thats cool.

A reverse bug is I have an item with elemental drain on it. For some reason I cant use that spell even with the power.

how is this game multiplayer? lots of people playing? how many people per game?

 

I'll be getting this game in a few days. Look out for DementedZoidberg. Anyone playing this game on the 8600M GT and want to talk about its graphics?

 

Not sure if this is the right threat to ask this but,

I'm wondering what everyones specs are and what graphics and resolution everyone is playing in.

Right now I have a G1S-X1 (3Dmark6 score average of higher 3600 to low 3700ish)
2.0 Core 2 Duo
2 Gigs
8600 gt DDR3
5600 rpm drive.
Driver 163.44 i believe.

But anyways, I'm currently playing Hellgate on Direct x 9 instead of 10, as the frame rate drops too much for me (I usually don't tolerate anything less than 20 fps) I play with Max relsolution and everything on either high or medium. How about you guys? I'm trying to find the best resolution/graphics/fps combination here.

 

I haven't found the mask yet, but I'm rolling in Zombot parts. I finished mine shortly after the servers came back up last night. My summoner is level 12 or 13 and my blademaster is level 4.

 

I need 5 more blood vials......

 

My game crashed out a few hours ago and I couldn't get it to restart (fatal error upon opening). I'm trying a reinstall now.

ETA: Game still won't run after reinstall. I absolutely cannot play; Windows crashes it immediately upon loading so there's no error report.
