Figured I would share if anyone is interested, looks like the Hellgate Open Beta Starts Today.

I'm probably alone in liking it, but oh well. I loved Hellgate London, just one of those games you play and "Wish it had not died out"

I liked HG:L a lot too. Despite all the horrible issues and lack of content it launched with, it was at core a great ARPG, especially toward the end when the Parliament square/Abyss test server was up. I didn't find any other games to replace it.

Though I was really sorry to see HG:L go, I personally am not going to spend another dime on it at this point --- especially not to Hanbitsoft/T3 since IMO they played an extremely predatory role in killing the game off in the first place (though I dare say HG:L would've folded anyway as a result of FSS's incompetence).

Did the devs actually overhaul it or is it largely the same game with some more features added on?

I liked HG:L but only for a shot while before it became too much of a grind to do nothing and gain nothing.

I liked the premisis of free to play, but they really shafted people that didnt want to play and that felt dishonest to me.

I didnt stick around long enough to see how the game evolved. I't definitely had some promise and could make a good basis for a better game based on the same concept but just better executed.

I have a feeling that D3 is going to really be the title to look for if your into ARPG.

In on this as Vespasian, it seems like fun but the lag is unbearable at the minute. Hopefully it should improve soon. Hell I even had the original game at launch and it ran smoother than this.
