I want to squeeze out some more FPS in Starcraft 2. I was wondering if someone can help me overclock this processor? or maybe send me in the right direction?

SetFSB may work, depends on your system, or more precisely on the clock gen.
Don't think there's any other program, and I'm not sure whether you really gain enough to notice a difference, but it's worth a try, doesn't set you back too much. -

SetFSB + HPET.
I have mine at 3.1GHz, it really works as benchmarked by GPU usage in MSI Afterburner, and FPS benchmarks in JC2.
PLL Pinmod will work too, but you have to enable HPET in Windows or else you get everything too fast. -
sick bear, can you walk me through how to get my i5 430m close to that?
3.1 GHz.... Please help me, i downloaded the set fsb i just dont really understand how to use it..... -
what sort of temps do u get with 3.1 bear? on stress tests. Also do u disable the turbo?

Go here, and look for your model:
SetFSB_HomePage
If you can find the matching motherboard, select it in SetFSB (it's the Clock Generator) and then press "Get FSB". increase the slider right above "auto". Do it in small increments like 5, pressing SetFSB will set it. You can test that it does indeed work with CPU-Z.
For example, the number for me is originally 83, I can manage to get it up to 3.1GHz if I increase it to 114 (but still in small increments otherwise it freezes up sometimes).
Also use ThrottleStop, and increase the TDP of your CPU if required. This is to prevent downclocking the CPU automatically (you may not be required to do this).
To enable HPET follow this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/7091776-post794.html
It may not work if you have the boot partition in another hard drive (should only occur if you have a separate boot manager other than Windows, or you have two hard drives)
I don't disable turbo, but I do use throttlestop's TDP increase. -
@bear
can the same be applied to i7 740qm too??
its a dell xps 15 btw
