    Hi,

    I am experiencing a problem with my dv6000t 1.6 duo, 1G ram, go7400.

When I just bought the laptop, manually removed most of the bloatware, optimized (+ hot fix), and bought a few games I had a 3dmark05 score of 1990.

Few months later, now, I can hardly play those game and am having very low FPS.

    Games:
DoD. Everything is on high as recommended with shadows and AA off. I hardly get above 25 FPS and get down to 16-17 when the smoke goes out.

CSS 1.6 Source Very similar to DoD buy the SPS swing wildy from very low to very high.

RO (Red Orchestra) I was playing this game with no problem on high setting with 1280x800 shadows off. but as of recently I can hardly ran it I average between 15-65 in 90 % of the time in low 20s or below it.

I tried to play on many different servers but on some FPS are a bit better and in some a lot worse.

I know that with my GPU I should be very comfortable playing those games at those settings so I decided to use drivers that are used by Havok 84.12 that gave him the best performance. But that haven't helped and my scores in 3dmark05 dipped down to 1888. I know this score is very subjective so I am not very crazy about it but my FPS and gaming experices are sub-par.

can someone explain (guide) what is wrong with my system?

    Thanks,

    S.

Are you playing online or single-player?

    Also, I wouldn't worry about a 100 3DMark variation.

It could be the connection that's slowing you down. Or even the server.

    Otherwise known as lag.

your display drivers are either, outdated or crap. go to www.laptop2go.com and find some better ones. the default preinstalled displayed drivers for my geforce go 6200 registered around 45fps on the steam video test. a change of drivers puts it to about 60fps and makes it much more stable. try it out,

    other possible problems,

there are many backgrounds programs eating system resources
your system is overheating due to dust etc <<<< very possible
    GPU is undercloked
once again, drivers are damaged or outdated.

So even if you have let's say the best hardware and a high end GPU you can still be dragged down by the lag?

I understand if it only happened on a few servers but I get hammered pretty much on any server.

If lag is in fact your problem, there is really nothing you can do about it. The best rig in the world is only as good as its connection in an online game.

It's very possible that it's something else though.

    tnx,
I will try to download the latest drivers from laptop2go.com. Are all Nivida drivers listed on that site are compatible with all Nivida GPUs or should i just look for drivers specifically for go 7400 ?

    thanks again
