Hi all,![]()
I've upgraded my MSI with a 675m (Dead), with a clevo 770m. After flashing the bios, and having Windows recognize it, I'm having a really hard time installing drivers that will work without crashing. I can't even render the nvidia control panel 3d logo.
It worked a couple of times, but then it crashes out of nowhere.
Here are the dumps from Windows Debugger if it's any help:

Hi there - I'm going to move this thread to the Gaming forum and hopefully you'll get help there.

Hi all,
I've flashed my bios to 51x, and EC to 24T.
Drivers install but crash as soon as I try to render anything.
Any clues?
I'm getting TDR errors too
Thanks!
-
try to flash an MSI bios to your card
-
vBIOS already has a MSI bios I assume... otherwise it wouldn't recognize the card in device manager or install the drivers would it? I'm not so certain...
What bios version should I see in CPUZ with each vbios?
Thanks! -
Yes ,that's the bios I have right now installed in the card.
MSI GTX 770M 3072 MB 2013-03-24 00:00:00 80.06.54.00.11 PCI-E 706 / 1002 GDDR5
Clevo would be the following:
Clevo GTX 770M 3072 MB 2013-02-05 00:00:00 80.06.51.00.0C PCI-E 706 / 1002 GDDR5
Any other ideas? -
Do you get it to install drivers from Geforce.com? Meaning without modding? The name for the GPU seems to point to that you havent done it correctly
-
That screen is before I install the drivers. Once I install any drivers from Nvidia, CPUZ will not come up due to the GPU failing to use the actual drivers and crashing.
I can install drivers directly from Geforce.com just fine, without modding. Once I restart, the Nvidia control panel shows up, but as soon as it tries to render the spinning nvidia logo, this comes up:
"Nvidia windows kernel mode driver (insert driver version here) stopped responding and was recovered successfully"
I've tried four different versions without success. I believe the GPU is working, since afterburner shows temps, but I can't get it to actually render anything.
Funny thing is , this laptop with this video card worked a few days ago, with another bios for a few hours at a time, but after a few crashes I couldn't even get it to start Windows.
Now it seems much more stable, but I can't get the card to render
Thanks! -
Quick question... my vbios says MSI 1462... and my current BIOS version is 1762 51x... are those related? Should my vbios be 1762, or bios be 1462?
Thanks!
Help! Won't install drivers on 770m! :(
