I recently bought a laptop with the 8400GS 256MB video card. it has the ability to use my RAM as shared memory, it can use up to two gigs but the nvidia control panel tells me its using 1754... does that mean that the video card is constantly using that much memory (like my computer can no longer take advantage of that 1754 MB of memory) or the video card will only use if it needs to, or both use it at the same time... also how to i adjust the amount of shared memory i would like the card to use. thanks

The turbocache will only be used when your dedicated memory runs out. It can dynamically use UP TO 1754mb of your system RAM. (which will never happen)
Your dedicated 256mb memory probably wont even run out, so dont bother with turbocache. -
how can i run it at a lower temprature?

by putting it in "balanced" when doing something somewhat intensive but not gaming, or "power saver" mode when not gaming or doing anything intensive.
