Hi,
I have been using Dox's 180.70 drivers. When I try to play the game, I cannot spot who is who and what is what in the game. Everything is messy.
Anyone facing the same problem? Plz help me out.
My specs are XPS M1730, Core2Duo 2.4 GHZ, SLI 8800m GTX, 4 gb ram.
Thank you

You need to really make sure you clean up your drivers before installing Dox's.
Use DriverSweeper in Safe Mode to clean up everything, and then install Dox's. -
just read this thread:
http://laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22100
on how to fix that issue.
No need to uninstall my 180.70, just do what is instructed on the link.

Also I am not being able to set the resolution 1920X1200. Max is 1600.
And it shows only 498 mb of Vram as I got 1 gb 8800m gtx SLI.
Anyone help? -
Sprad you dont have 1gb, ive been saying this over and over on the forums.. VRAM doesnt stack, so you have only 512mb of VRAM, so as you can see, when you are using 498mb, you are almost at the limit

Can you post a screenshot of what's happening?
-
Just make a txt document and name it commandline.txt. Place this into the GTA IV root folder i.e where you have the exe files. Then just put in whatever settings you want like I have done below on my desktop and I also did this on my XPS M1730 forcing the game to play in 1920x1200.
However for us with 8800m GTX I don´t recommend the Textures set to High, i.e 2 in the commandline. Since this messes the game a bit with cars floating in air and such. It uses around 890Mb of Vram memory with textures set to High and 1920x1200 res. And we only have actually 512MB of VRAM.
Here is what I have in my commandline.txt for my desktop
-nomemrestrict -norestrictions -novblank -percentvidmem 100 -width 1440 -height 900 -detailquality 15 -viewdistance 30 -texturequality 2 -shadowdensity 5 -renderquality 4 /high
Actually that /high switch at the end is for the game to use all CPU power it can use. I actually noticed a little more smoother gameplay with this switch -

That worked but vehicles fly.
-
Yeah they fly because you are probably running 1920x1200 along with Textures High. This takes up roughly around 890Mb I think. Lower the res or put in -texturequality 1 to go with medium textures.
