I am buying my first laptop for college. I also am a moderate gamer and watch alot of movies. Is this a good laptop for all of those? About how long till i will need to upgrade? Is it best to just buy the notebook from hp.com or does anyone have a website that has good deals?

    Specs:
    HP Pavilion dv6500t
Intel Core 2 Duo (4 MB L2 Cache)
    2 GB Ram
    NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    160GB 5400RPM Hard Drive

Im not very computer savy so any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    ok thanks
My budget is around 1000 to 1400, the cheaper the better.
I would prefer 14-15.4" screen (i like them glossy)
    I am from USA.

    No preference of brand
It will be used for mostly schoolwork, some gaming and movie watching.
I play everything from C&C to MMO's and would liek them to be on decent settings.

I will need around 3 hrs of battery life.
I Dont mind buying online, as long as there are pictures.
    I would prefer Windows Vista.
I like widescreen but dont know much about the resolution.
anywhere around 100gb of hard drive is good.
    Nothing more than cd-rom required.

I think i got all the questions answered. thanks.
