I have a vast library of PC games. I have played many but have finished few. I am in the mood for a good action game, but nothing too complicated or overly difficult. I've started up Bulletstorm, but have a feeling I'll plow through that without much issue. I like Max Payne 3 but I keep having an issue where it loses my save game, even after a reinstall, deleting the profile folder, etc. I play for a while, exit then come back later and have to start from the beginning again, very annoying. So I'll avoid that until it gets fixed, hopefully it does.

Action games I really enjoyed that I have finished (in no particular order) in recent years: Half-Life 2 and episodes, Bioshock, CoD 1 & 2 campaigns, Crysis, Crysis Warhead (can't really get into Crysis 2 much), Doom 3, BF3 campaign, Portal/Portal 2...

In any case which of the following would you recommend I play next?

    Alan Wake
    Batman: Arkham Asylum
    BioShock 2
    Dead Island
Dead Space / Dead Space 2
    Deus Ex Human Revolution
    FEAR 2 / FEAR 3
    Medal of Honor
    Metro 2033
    Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
    Saints Row The Third

While I'm open to other suggestions, I'd rather keep it to my current game library.

    Thanks!

I bought the batman franchise during the steam summer sale.

Hands down get started with batman arkham asylum! I can't wait to finish this to get going with arkham city lol. I'm about 20% through and it has been a great fun experience. My first real game on this laptop :)

Since everything you listed is an fps, change it up and go for Batman: AA. Great game. Dead Space is another I would recommend. I played through that twice in order to get all the upgrades.

Voted Batman. Arkham series are really well made, had a lot of fun playing it.
Otherwise Deus Ex HR or Alan Wake.

I voted Alan Wake, but all of them are great games, except Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which is console garbage.

I can highly recommend both Alan Wake and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Saints Row: The Third also offers drop in coop too. :)

I have felt similarly as of late. My current combo that keeps me going back for more is Deus Ex:HR and Saints Row 3. The former has less action than I anticipated, but still very engaging. The latter is full of juvenile humor and a little shallow, but still a great time.

Even though I don't see it on your list, I had a blast with Serious Sam 3. Maybe my expectations were appropriately low...

FEAR2 was nice. FEAR3 not so much.

Batman AA was nice. Batman AC was a bit hard at times, too complicated for it's own good.

Bioshock 1&2 were both nice, if you like the story.

Skip Dead Space, do DS2 only. It's about the same story, but better experience.

Deus EX HR was nice. I have played the ones before it as well, but now they will look kinda old.

Medal of Honor is always nice.

Metro 2033 gets my vote as a first try. It's interesting, but could be hard at times. Still, it's worth it.

Saints Row 3rd was a great update over 2nd. I had a lot of fun with it, but you might miss the action first time around. Do every side missions before the main ones. It's really well made and will keep you busy for days.

This is all I got so I cannot comment the other titles there.

My Max Payne 3 has no problems at all. If you want, I'll give you my saves. I'll try to find them since I have finished the game and I don't have it anymore.

What's that supposed to mean? I think you mean non-gaming activities, right? Because I can't stand it when people consider gaming not "reality" or "real world". It's a hobby that exists in the "real world". It is, in fact, an activity that exists in our reality. People are spending billions on it, it definitely exists. And it can also be social.

Appropriate moderation is all that is required. I do admit I tend to skew into the crowd that games probably too much for my own good. But I've surrounded myself with family and friends that are passionate about it as a hobby. We all seem to be holding down our lives and jobs just fine, for the most part. :p

DE:HR - the game is great..probably the best S/E game to come out in a very long time. Other then that, Batman is a fantastic game

Really? For me it was the other way. Boss fights in AC were easier for me, they are the main reason I've never finished AA...
I liked how they managed to include all those side activities into the story line.

And I never finished AC for the same reason. Too complicated :)

Yes, SR3 was a lot of fun to play. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I liked it a lot.

Voted DX:HR. I picked both that and Batman: AA up on the Steam Sale. I haven't gotten deep into DX yet but it plays like a movie - it has a real movie feel and keeps you engaged. Bonus that I loved the original and that I'm a sucker for games that combine stealth, fps action, and rpg elements. From what I've read, it's not ridiculously long either, so you should be able to finish it.

    Great to hear :D

Bulletstorm is actually really fun online if you team up with friends and clear those achievements.

Now regarding Deus Ex, amazing game, simply amazing. You'll love it, especially on your 680M!

To me Deus Ex is easily the single most outstanding game up there, while Operation Flashpoint may be the worst.

But overall, I can't pick against the two Dead Space games as the most total package of quality gaming. That said I still voted for Deus Ex, and was surprised when it revealed that it had already won by a landslide.

After DE:HR, I say go after Dead Space. It's the next best game up there.

All are great titles and I voted but I'm gonna have to say seriously consider taking a look at 'Sleeping Dogs'.

I played this for a while last night and had great fun. There was a mission where I had to vandalize a cheating race drivers car with an axe (then used it to kill all of his bodyguards), I had a car chase mission where I rammed the targets protection of the road (including the police chasing), I took part in protection rackets taking on thugs with a fighting system similar to some kung-fu movies, I messed around in free roam on a motorbike, jumping off and car jacking other drivers (like in the fall guy movies).

In the chase missions by foot, I noticed reductions in points if I miss timed a jump or looked clumsy. The more smooth and stylish I was when navigating or scaling obstacles, the more points I received.

I also noticed that while driving around the city people would call out my name and ask me to do favours for them, one looked straight forward enough until I unwittingly became a getaway driver.

The game can be maxed out with the 680M but I play at high and normal with frames from 40-100 fps. I can't recommend this game enough.

However, it looks like you have a huge library of games so you might not want to buy this one just yet.
