The first one is one I want to find and play again. It reminded me of Robotron (if anyone's old enough here to remembr THAT game). It's futuristic and you're fighting against different kinds of machines. You're a machine yourself. The object is to clear the screen of all the enemies then you advance to the next screen. You have 2 sticks, one moves you, one fires in the direction you point. It came out for the X-Box 1 and the PC. I believe the name of the game has a number it it. It was 2d. The number that pops to mind is 350z, but I'm sure that's not the name of the title. Anyone know?

The 2nd game isn't one I'll play again, and I have less info on it than the first one. It reminds me a lot of ME2 or Bladerunner. Came out about maybe 7+ years ago. Was RPG turn based in the future and you have a team. It's not just you. I think there was magic as well as tech, but can't remember for sure. The way I remember it was like an ancient Mass Effect 2, but it was in 3d, so not SO ancient. I know this one isn't much to go on. Just trying to remember for sentimental sake.

I don't know for sure, but check out this list of original xbox games might help:

But I definitely remember Robotron from the coin arcade days. Just so you know Robotron 2084 is supposed to be out now or soon for the Xbox 360.

If you remember Robotron and liked it, you should love the first game I'm talking about. It was like Robotron on steroids. It must of been relatively popular because it was ported.

Robotron 2084... Sweet. Hope it comes to PC.

The second one sounds almost like Final Fantasy 7? That was the first truly 3D RPG. There were a TON of RPGs that match your description that were isometric views, though.

Thank you for the guess. It wasn't Final Fantasy 7...... I know the 2nd description isn't so great. I'm pretty sure the game wasn't TOO popular too, making it even more difficult...

The way you ran around was like a 1st person or 3rd person shooter... But when it came time for battle it turned into turn based FF style combat.

Well, almost every single JRPG is like that.

Haha...I know...Skip the 2nd one altogether. It just really reminded me of ME...The atmosphere anyways... If I ever come across it, I'll revive the thread...

Same with the first one. I just looked through the Xbox list of games twice and image searched any title that popped out at me, but no go. So either I'm mistaken and it never was an Xbox port, or I'm just not able to pick it out from that list. Thought it might pop out at someone since there are very few games played in the way I mentioned in the OP.

Got it! The first one anyways. Mutant Storm. Not on the xbox list though, so guess it never was actually ported. Images. Insane shooter if anyone likes this type of game.

There are plenty in the styles you mentioned, so many that it's hard to narrow the list without more details. The first falls into the same genre as geometry wars, the second is just a generic jrpg.

Also, the 350Z is a Nissan Roadster that came out roughly 8 years ago.

Really? What other good futuristic styled 2d games control by moving one stick to move and the other stick to shoot? I really enjoyed Mutant Storm, am interested to check some other similar ones out that play like that.

I realized the 2nd one would be difficult to nail down as I said from the beginning.
