What driver are you using? Try to update to last driver, maybe it solves the problem.

How is this game, btw? Gameplay wise? I've read a bunch of reviews, but I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger on it.
Any issues with disarming people?

PhysX support on the PC provides some slightly enhanced visuals, but you'd need at least a GTX 560M to run the game well with it enabled.
If you can pick it up for cheap ($5 or less), it's definitely worth it. Otherwise, wait for it to go on sale. Direct2Drive is running discounts on EA games all this week so it would be worth it to check there. Steam will probably put it on sale at some point as well. -
The game itself is both insane amounts of fun and frustration. Disarming works well enough. There is a problem with the platforming aspect, if you're even a tiny bit off from the ledge you have to grab/land on etc. you'll most likely fall to your death. Since the game is from a first person perspective, expect this to happen quite a few times.
There is also a few confined spaces that makes running away form the bad guys without getting shot to death a PITA.
Did i enjoy the game, yes and a lot on top of that. Did i almost destroy a PS3 controller (had to open it to make it work right again) due to frustration, yes. By the way, it's the only game where i actually smashed my controller against something out of sheer frustration.
Most of the game is a lot of fun, but expect to hate some parts of it too.
EDIT: Most of the platforming is fun, it's a platforming game after all, it just gets a bit frustrating sometimes. If the game allowed for a certain margin of error to compensate for the first person perspective platforming (very small one of course), it would be almost perfect. I did play the game on PS3 for the record and never shot someone.

Ehhh.....that's not good
I was expecting better testimonials, lol...
I guess in turn I could recommend you guys one of my favorite games: Prince of Persia 2008
I was looking for a game very similar to that.....emphasis on platforming, a little bit of action thrown in, and beauuuutiful graphics and visuals.

Already went through PoP 2008
, way less frustrating than mirror's edge. Honestly, i'd still recommend the game, just be warned that you will experience a few frustrating moments. Thank to that game, i now know that PS3 controllers are also very sturdy
.

Mirror's Edge would have been better if they had removed the ability to use guns altogether and removed the "forced combat" situations where you can't run away. I managed to get through the game without firing a gun, but there were two or three scenarios I remember being ridiculously difficult because of that. Hopefully for the sequel they focus less on combat and more on the running itself.

Most of it would revolve around platforming and running courier missions while getting away from the police. -
The first-person perspective was what helped make Mirror's Edge so unique and it's why I picked it up. If it's third person, won't it basically be Assassin's Creed?

Mirrors Edge is a very beautiful game mrmysterious66. The games environments work very well, and as far as im concerned every FPS game should handle similar to Mirrors Edge, slow run build up, sliding, climb things that are obviously climable. Story is a big MEH from me, but its def worth a try. I mean even games like Oblivion would benifit from the dynamic moving system, be able to jump off a wall and axe a guy in the head would be SAVAGE!!!! DICE made it and it looks like they took alot away from the game to add into BF3, think crawling and jumping out of the air duct, the lighting engine developed for mirrors edge seems to be revamped for BF3 aswell.
Help needed for mirror's edge
