So for christmas I found out I'm getting $40 worth of gift cards to gamestop

What do you guys suggest for games?
I was looking at Mass Effect 2 when it comes out but would have to play through the first. Empire Total War looks promising too

Beat Fallout 3 already. I like just about anything. RTS FPS MMO RPG you name it. Except puzzle games

You should play the first Mass Effect as well. It's very good. Other games I can recommend off the top of my head:

    - Command & Conquer 3
    - Company of Heroes + Opposing Fronts expansion
    - Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory and Double Agent
    - Bioshock
    - Crysis
    - Assassin's Creed (and 2, due in Q1 2010)
    - Half-Life 2 (plus all the episodes)

if you are interested in Empire Total War, you can wait a couple of months for Napoleon Total War, which comes out in Feb 2010 and costs 40 bucks

You could try Civilization:Colonization, TBS games can be surprisingly worthwhile if you can get into them.

Arkham Asylum (completed it) but Assassins Creed 2 is what I am really waiting for. I would suggest GTA IV (my fav game) but it doesn't like Dual Core very much, although OC might be ok.

Id definitly go with as creed 2, since it has rpg elements in it like upgrading your armour, weapons, your mansion and city, it should last you a long time. And its o so brutal...lovely.

You already have Assassin's Creed 1, then get 2. It was a HUGE step up, definitely worth the buck.
