Hi everyone! This is my first post in this comunity and i would apreciate any help in my purchase.

I need to buy a notebook to use for service, and as I like games it would be cool to buy one that I could use for that, expecially in my travels. I'am not looking for a desktop replacement.

Money is certanly an issue, as I live in Brasil and I plan to buy it in my next trip to Us, so everything I spend more than U$ 500, i will pay 50% over that for the Customs. And I could buy the memory and hd in another trip to make an upgrade.

Looking in the website and many reviews i think that a compaq could handle my needs as it is quit cheap, around U$ 800.

I was thinking of buying the v5000z, Turion 2.2ghz 200M XPRESS dedicated.

What do you think guys? Is this good for me as I don“t demand outstanding graphics, just to have fun playing games in low-medium config?

As last question, Do you guys think i should wait a litle bit more for the amd dual processor? Even if its not to buy it (as it would be expensive) as the prices of other notebooks would go down... I could wait more 3-4 months....

    Thanks for any help,
    Thiago

The 200m would be more of a low end card, and depends on what types of games.

Well... I normally play strategy or MMporg Games... like rome total war, civilization, neverwinter, Warcraft, iam still not playing Wow or GUildwars...

I normally dont play doom/h2 or other heavy graphical games.

Do you think this computer would run these games?

Should I wait and see if the price of the v4000t with the x700 would go down a litle bit?

I'd complete our FAQ in the hardware section and create a new thread there. You'll get more recomendations.
