I am looking to take the stock 4650 in my Asus from a core speed of 550 Mhz and run it closer to the 4670 core speed of 675MHz. This computer has sound heat transfer and I feel the system would be able to handle this jump. I have looked at previous threads discussing this, but most are old and none deal specifically with the ATI/AMD Mobility Radeon HD4650. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I guess the only thing to do is OC it and find out. At least you have an idea of what the chip can stand assuming the cooling system is as good as it needs to be.

I crashed my system 3 times in a row after installing tray tools. I am going to install the recommended catalyst drivers and give it one more go, but after having failed previously I am a little worried.

consider yourself lucky if you manage to get it pass 600mhz. ati cards are not too good at ocing, except the semi-new 4890.

Using TechPowerUp's GPUTool CTP1, I have only tried the following settings:

On a similar note, RivaTuner version 2.24's cfg file can be modified to support HD4650 low-level system settings.

By the way, I'm using Vista 32bit Catalyst version 9.11

I have yet to try 3DMark06 test, CPU and GPU overclocking raised my WEI Base Score from 5.6 to 5.7 for the Processor and Gaming Graphics component.

Not true. I am using 9.10 and TechPowerUp's GPUTool works fine.
