Help with GTX 760m Drivers.

Hello everyone my first post :hi2:.

I uninstalled my graphics drivers that where pre installed on my MSI GE40 for the new drivers that came out on the 1st of this month, unfortunately them drivers where incompatible with my laptop. I went and downloaded drivesweeper and removed all my nvidia drivers and tried again sadly with no luck.

I have now run into a huge problem because now all my games are almost unplayable and my laptop i dont know what to do.

Please help me.

so youve deleted the OEM drivers that arent normally available to the general public. been there done that. any idea of the driver number?

if you did not get a driver disc with all the drivers on then the only other option is a system restore which worked for me.

the 320.49 is compatable with your gpu
GeForce 700M series:

That driver doesn't have the MSI 760M in it.

didnt know msi had special drivers just for themselves, oh how cute is that

so you buy a 760 from nvidia but its not compatible with the generic 760 from their website, hmm go figure.

would of thought it would be in the exceptions list
Exceptions:

Notebooks supporting Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets are not supported (NVIDIA Optimus technology is supported).
The following Sony VAIO notebooks are included in the Geforce notebook program: Sony VAIO F Series with NVIDIA GeForce 310M, GeForce GT 330M, GeForce GT 425M, GeForce GT 520M or GeForce GT 540M. Other Sony VAIO notebooks are not included (please contact Sony for driver support).
Fujitsu notebooks are not included (Fujitsu Siemens notebooks are included).

 

Nvidia's official mobile drivers are still vendor-specific. So even if one vendor--ASUS in this case--has the GTX 760M in their INF, another--MSI in this case--may not; while that vendor may have a copy of Nvidia's drivers that only include their own devices.

And in the case that a vendor's INF includes the GPU in question, it still has to match the SubSysID for drivers to install. This is why I still have to mod MSI drivers that already have the 780M in them.

Usually, Nvidia eventually catches up and includes the updated devices.

Thank you very much i have successfully managed to install the the driver 5482741 provided.

Its really strange that MSI do not have any drivers on the MSI GE40 page located here = http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE40-2OC-Dragon-Eyes.html#/?div=Firmware.

Once again thank you my problems are now sorted for the time being.
