    Hi all,
I have an Acer Aspire 1694WLMi with ATi Radeon X700 256MB graphics card.

    It has external monitor support.

I want to play Battlefield 2 on my laptop but using my desktop monitor. I've been playing around with the settings but can only get the external monitor to display an 'extended desktop' (ie. if I move my mouse to the edge of the laptop screen it continues onto my external desktop monitor).

So, I just want the external desktop monitor to show exactly the same as the laptop screen. I know it can be done because when I first connected my external monitor to the laptop that was what I had but then I played with the settings and now I can't get the external monitor to show anything except the extended desktop.

    Any ideas?

    All help appreciated.

Hmm. I can only check for Nvidia, but I assume it should be the same for ATI.

Go to 'display' in your control panel. Click settings -> advanced -> ATI tab. There should be a setting there for your display mode. Set it to clone.

I don't seem to have that option. Under 'settings' in display properties I have the images of the two monitors. If I right click on the second image I get a choice of Attached & Primary neither of which solve the problem....

there should be an option to choose your monitor...on mine in the display options (ATI or otherwise), it gives me two GPUS to choose from..(both atix700), and the option to choose a monitor..i shows 2 boxes, with with the #1 in it and the other with the #2 in it...you move them around to choose the main monitor, and to choose where it will extend the desktop too.

sorry if this isnt clear, hope it helps..

    pb,out.
