Do you see any significant scratch or chip on the disk(s)?

Hey Delta, sorry to hear about your troubles. I was able to install Crysis and Crysis Warhead, but I will say that when I went to install Crysis and Warhead, the DVD chunked and chugged for about 10 minutes before the install actually started. I didn't get any errors, but had given up hope until it finally started the install.

On a somewhat related note, I had a similar problem trying to install Age of Empires III, where it said that a file was missing, and every time I went to look for the file I couldn't find it. In sheer desperation I rebooted, and when I attempted it again it came up just fine. I'm sure you've done several reboots already, but thought I'd mention it.

One other thing that "may" help, would be to try to run the setup.exe file as administrator. It may do that already, but thought I'd mention it

    Good luck!

i don't know whether this method is "allowed", but it should be considering you should own a perfectly valid and paid for licence key.

you may be able to download a complete disc image from the internet and use your cd key to install the game. i've done it for my copy of command and conquer generals, and it worked.

i once had splinter cell for the pc, and the disc was scratched. even though the game was used i was still able to return it to the game store and request a new disc - they gave me a new one from the pre-owned pile, and i kept the cd key and manual and stuff.

See if you can copy the DVD to your hard drive and install Crysis from there. This has worked for me in the past.

Yeah the cd has a hair scratch on it. But i don't think it's bad enough to error out. I would download an image but Im not sure I can trust the Internet enough to give me a virus free one lol. And yes I do have a valid key hehe that's why I have the install disc it worked fine on my i7-720 m17 maybe I could just transferr that on over to this. But again I'm a complete newb and don't even know how to do that. Could I join drag it and drop it onto my other computer over my home network?

Hey Delta, have you attempted to install it on another machine just to see if you get the same results? If so it may be the drive itself. I had to have my drive on my 1710 replaced due to a similiar problem (would read some cd's and not others), not recommending that you have it replaced based on just this one disk, but would be curious if another machine installs it just fine.

That's a possibility. Or it could be that the small scratch is causing an issue for the particular drive you're trying to read it in, but a different drive might be able to read past it without an issue. If you can get the disc to read in another computer, you should make an image and install it from that.
