Hi, i'm considering to buy this new notebook, but i have a doubt, does any one knows if this computer with this video card: nVidia Go 8400m (Dedicated), could run the game Medieval II: Total War? Thank you.

The 8400 isn't a weak card, it's a mainstream card. It depends what the requirements for MII:TW are, but I'm sure it'll run.

My friend can run MII:TW almost high settings native res on his X1400, I'm willing to bet you can do the same on your 8400

You will get some low frames when alot is going on in a live battle but otherwise you should be fine.

if im not mistaken, which i doubt, the 8400 is just like the 7400, but just DX 10. Correct me if im wrong though, and of coarse its better, but its not the best card. but yeah it'll run that game.

I think there are 3 versions of the 8400M. The top model should be near the Go 7600. The other two would be closer to the 7400. They are a completely different architecture than the previous 7x00 series though.

The m1330 has a 8400GS IIRC, so I would assume it'd be closer to the 7400, the 8400GT should be a bit below the 7600.

now when we compare the 7x00 and the 8x00 we are putting them on 2 number lines like so:

    7200-----7300----7400----7600----etc. Dx9 (2001-2006)
low end durring that period of time

    8200-----8300----8400----8600----etc. Dx 10 (2007-2010)
low end at that period of time

    Correct?

Pretty much but with the introduction of the G/GS/GT suffixes from nVidia, and possible the X/XT from ATi/AMD, well...
