Hi,
I happen to come across this notebook video card. However, I can not find any P/N or Model # specified on it. I just know that it is for Dell Notebook
Can anyone here help me to identify what model it is?

It could be anything
. Since its from a Dell, its made harder. Possibilities are that it could be an ATI Mobility X1400, nVidia Go 6800, Go 7800, Go 7900 GS. I think that is it, but I may have missed a couple.
Do you know from which Dell notebook it is from? -
I believe that it is from XPS family, but I am not sure which serie does it come from.
I can't find any label or words to identify whether it is ATI or Nvidia chipset.
This VIDEO card is quite big so I am sure that it should be from big sized XPS model. I suspect that is is from either XPS M1730 or XPS M2010. Can anyone who has these model help to clarify this?
Thanx! -
This looks to me like it is from an E1705/M1710 or M2010. I think this is an nVidia card, as it has a green PCB (the Mobility X1400 had a blue one, I believe) and, as you say, is from an XPS model, which all used nVidia cards. Given that information, I think this is either a Go 7800 or a Go 7900 GS. It cannot be a Go 7900/7950 GTX because it only has one heatsink. I hope I'm right here.
EDIT: On second thought, it could still be a Go 6800/6800 Ultra or ATI Mobility X1800.
EDIT 2 : Actually, I think I've got it now. Its an ATI Mobilty X1800. I couldn't find any cards with a single heatpipe *and* with a curled heatpipe on the card. All the others that I looked at had a straight pipe on the card. But then I came around to looking for the Mobility X1800, and the card is exactly that in your pictures. The part number is actually on the card. I can see it on your pictyres, but cannot read. For the big sticker on the copper heatpipe, it should read CN-0DG005 for the first part, and on the underside, one of the stickers should start with CN-0JG367. Hopefully, if those markings are there, then your card is definitely an ATI Mobility X1800. -
That card does look like a 7900GS found in the XPS 1710 model from Dell. My friend has a 7950GTX in his 1710 and it looks near identical, without relation to the second heatpipe.
This is a picture of the 7950GTX in my friends laptop:

I'm going to go with Zero and say the ATI x1800 256mb from the XPS M2010.

K-TRON, that is what I had originally thought. It looked very much like a Go 7900 GS card, but on closer inspection, you can see the heatsink on the Go 7900 GS is much smaller than the one in bemmy's pictures. Also, I could not find card which had one heatpipe and a straight heatpipe on the card. I fugured I may aswell have a look for the Mobility X1800, and it turned out to look exactly the same as the one in the pictures.
confusedsoul's post is very useful. I found the card at the following link:

Gotcha!
Thank you for all your helps! Highly appreciated!
It is time to get rid of it as it won't fit my notebook ;-) -
Where did you find it? I would also make sure it works before I sold it...
-
Bought it from someone in local area who claim that Dell has sent him the wrong part. It comes in Dell box (no papers though), so I feel that it should be in working condition.
-
I would either sell it "As is", or sell it with a 7-14 day guarantee.
-
Yes, prabably will sell it with one week warranty.
Thank you for your advice -
No problem, and hope it works out for you, Bemmy!
