    Here is my problem.

For most games (some more visible than others) and all video, I notice that even though the frame rate is fine, every second there will be a hiccup, but then the computer catches up with itself and plays fine for the next second, and then hiccup again. This is a lot more visible when the frame rate is lower, but its still there when the frame rate is high too. I've used Fraps and other console commands to show frame rate, and when its hiccuping, the frame rate doesn't go down.

    Here are my specs:

2x ATI Radeon 4850 Xfire enabled
    Q9450 Quad core @ 2.66GHz
    2x 2GB OCZ Ram
    Vista 64x Ultimate

    Thanks for everyone's help!!!!

Why don't you try disabling XFire and see how it works out for ya. Maybe the game is just having trouble using the 2 cards at the same time. Some games are not optimized for dual card play.

If that doesn't fix it, a CPU or northbridge that is too hot will cause these hiccups as a fast attempt to cool down. Use HW Monitor to check your temps while you game.

The disabling of Xfire fixed it, at least with Far Cry 2 (which had it the worst). I'm going to check with other games, and then if my tests are conclusive, there will be a 4850 on the market.
