    Hello I have a new Vostro 1500,
    Xp Pro,
    t7300 2.o ghz C2D,
    2gb 667 Mhz ram,
    nVidia 256 MB 8600M GT.

I've recently been playing Counter Strike and I have two questions. Is it possible to tweak my settings to get higher than 60 fps?

Also, I am experiencing Hiccups while I play...it Could be my wireless card, but my connection seems to be just fine. My previous laptop never had problems (2.0 ghz Core Due, 2gb Ram, 128MB Nvidia Qaudro110M). Can I change my settings to stop these hiccups. I've tried running at various resolutions and the same problem exists.

ANY help is very much appreciated.

    Thanks

The game doesn't allow any higher than 99 fps, but you should be able to tweak settings so that it runs there all the time. I'd go to a counterstrike forum and ask them for the best changes to enter in your in game console to get there. My friend is an old CS hand and he typed a bunch of commands that made my CS go from 60-70 FPS to 99 all the time with all settings still maxed out, but I can't remember any of what he typed.

I may be wrong but my "seat of the pants" opinion is you wont notice a difference if you up the framerate. I had similar issues with BF2 on my current laptop on wireless, but as soon as I went wired it was fine.
