I have an advent 7093 with Geforce Go 7400.

Idle temps are about 65+ degrees - which seems outrageously high, you'd expect that from high end cards but not from a 7400....tried turning fans to always on in nvidia properties, and it's still at stock speeds. It climbs into high seventies or early eighties when under load, which again, seems unacceptably high for a 7400.

Don't want to have to underclock it, but I'm going to have to if this continues....

    Any ideas?

To be honest, I do not think underclocking the GPU would reduce the heat that much. It doesn't make a noticeable difference on my X700.

Has the video card always run that hot? If so, then it is probably normal. To reduce the heat, you will need to get a cooling pad. I have seen GPUs get a lot warmer than 70*.
