I seriously doubt that this is normal. I've been getting 5000-5400 scores in 3dmark while on AC power (plugged in), and if I plug out the cable and run it off battery, I get 5600-6000 scores...

Could this be a problem with the power supply?

The AC adapter might not be giving off enough watts to run your notebook to its full potential. Which notebook is it, anyway?

Perhaps you have set the performance setting while on Battery to be higher than the performance on AC?

    Correct.

I tried it both on High performance profile and on a custom profile, no luck.
I'm going to test out how much juice the power supply is putting out soon as i find someone that has some tools.

there is many people who had the same problem than you.

Just reset your power scheme in Vista. It should correct the problem

    Edit:
Do a search on google, you'll see that you are not the only one.

Thats probably the power scheme thats set wrong... or The AC is not functioning right...

LINUX UBUNTU has a power management console which calculates battery wattage, voltage and determines its life cycle etc...

    But yeah...

Fixed it, seems like I had a defect model. Not sure, nor do I care what was wrong with it, new one works fine :D

The more i here about these kind of things dealing with the P-6831's adapter, the more I'm inclined to believe it is to weak for the laptop. I'm even more concerned about people who purchase the higher end model and if it uses the same
adapter model, how it can possibly support the laptops.
