If this is priced right in our country I'll get this over Crysis 2 or DarkSpore.

 

I hate to say it but this game looks very generic. And with BF3 on the horizon, I dont see the MP lasting long at all.

Truly this looks a like a mod.

 

Well this is my "waiting for BF 3" game.

BF3 is still several months away

 

I know it just seems such a stretch from a company that gave us a travesty that that is Frontlines: Fuel of War.

One of the worst, buggiest MP games in the last 5 years. They still couldn't fix it.

 

I'll just see if the review are good first

 

PSM3 says the single player campaign is 5hrs long , i'll pass.

 

Wow, the multiplayer seems so generic. Especially with the XP points popping up after every kill and the run & gun gameplay style.

It looks like generic COD wannabe gameplay. No thanks.

 

It looks decent plus vehicles... Assume positive here. and it has to be better than crysis2 MP.

Yeah I am hoping that it has a better MP than Crysis 2(which I personally feel as fun but wont last long)

5 Hours on the easiest Difficulty is normal.. I completed Dead Space 2 at 4 hours on easiest difficulty.

 

As any scifi fps been announced recently? It seems like everything these days is about zombies and contemporary warfare. And when it's not, it is still using a gray-brown palette...

 

Asides from Crysis 2, next ones coming are Duke Nukem Forever and Brink in May.

 

If you had a PS3, I would totally recommend Killzone 3... Dang, that game is amazing!

 

But still, this game looks pretty fun with the helis, tanks, UAVs... And the weapon animations look well done...

Why all this hate?

 

Because the gameplay isn't very convincing and neither are the graphics. Just look at the gameplay, it's almost exactly like COD. Fun for a few hours of gameplay and then it gets old quick.

 

Yeah Killzone 3 is pretty damn good. I have been using a Frag FX Shark (fragchuck, mouse) and it has made the gameplay SO much better than using the controller.

 

Graphics look good, but besides vehicles it looks almost like a carbon copy of cod in a way.

The models, except for the weapons, look terrible! ._.

The car has almost no mip mapping...

Overall, the GFX look from a PS2 game...

 

I dont think it has PS2 graphics lol.

I just hope MP is fun

The graphics are OK. I hope that the gameplay is better than Crysis 2, though. On paper, it looks like Crysis 2 is fun, but it just gets boring quick.

It looks like multiplayer in Homefront is going to be OK.

It just seems too COD-ish. The maps look pretty small, the guns seem really generic with little recoil, the gameplay is fast and fluid like COD, you get UAV's and helicopters like COD.

I mean, the graphics are definitely sub-par but what really gets me is the gameplay, it hasn't convinced me at all. I feel that if I buy it, I'll play it for a month and then get bored of it cause it'd be too much of another, generic FPS.

 

Read the preview and it was very good

I really like the fact that you will be targeted once you get a lot of kills adds a lot of fun.(I like challenging situations)

This is for the XBOX so graphics still dont use DX11

 

Looks insane.. and that's console too. It looks much better on PC. I am so freaking excited. This could be my cure until BF3.

I already purchased it but those trailers clearly show this game's console roots. Terrible graphics for today's standards and the gameplay doesn't seem much different than Frontlines: Fuel of War. Hopefully it'll hold us all over until BF3.

I think every PC gamer right now are just finding /buying games that will hold them off till BF3 will arrive

 

You people seemingly to forget the possibility that even Battlefield 3 could be consolized to the point where the game won't even look remotely close to the trailer they showed at GDC.

This is exactly what happened to Crysis 2.

 

We already know what a consolized BF3 will look like - BC2.

Killstreaks,
CoD bullet damage.

I will just keep my money for BF3, Portal 2 and Uncharted 3.

 

Why would you want recoil anyway? It just kills the fast pace of a game IMO. The more arcade like the better.

 

Depends... Recoil adds challenge, and adds a need for skill ( nfs lol ). As I said, I still need to look at reviews. If they are better than what I though, then I will buy ( metascore of 9+ ).

 

Highly unlikely now since they showed that the last trailer was taken from a 580. Graphics can now only be better or more optiized by the time it is released

I agree with Phistachio is saying but it is not a game changer for me besides the fact that the trailer shown was for 360 since no PC version is shown yet.

The only thing keeping me from buying this are the price and reviews.

I dont think this game involves killstreaks like COD does.

Homefront uses points so shall we say

even if you killed 1 person but that person was the most wanted player you will be awarded a lot of battle points.

 

Because it makes shooting more of a challenge that requires skill rather than point, click, dead.

 

This looks a lot like how the COD series ended up, I seriously hope it doesn't become another fast paced "see who fires first" arcade shooter.

 

If you see the multiplayer gameplay videos it looks exactly like that. I doubt there will also be any teamwork, it looks like it's just another lone-wolf emphasizing MP shooter.

 

Yeah I'll pass if that's how it is. I would love to have forced squads even, which is emphasizing teamwork over running and gunning. If I wanted to play an arcade shooter I would go buy Black Ops.

 

Exactly, or Modern Warfare 2, or Modern Warfare. We don't want half-baked, copies of COD shooters just because it's become one of the most popular game series (I don't know why).

I think the only developer write now that hasn't fallen to sniffing COD's behind is DICE. Crysis 2 even feels like COD. I'm so sick of it.

 

And Guerrilla Games, and Naughty Dog, and VALVe...

 

That's not necessarily true because most games with a degree of recoil and no crossfire require you to stop, zoom in and then fire. When there's no recoil, you can move while shooting from the hip (ala quake or unreal) which involves even more skill because of the fast pace. If you are an old school gamer you'd know what I mean.

 

I don't know...that just seems like mindless shooting that 12 year old could manage.

 

Looks like the washington missions from MW2, that said Brink looks like garbage and I'd buy that over this.
