Homeworld 2 1.1 will not run in Vista because of one of the security features of Vista. Homeworld 2 is an old ass game. It's probably asking for memory in the non-Vista friendly form. The fix is to disable DEP until Vista comes out of beta will a less crazy security paradigm. Here is how and thanks for the guy who figured out how to turn off DEP:

    http://www.tech-recipes.com/microsoft_vista_tips1261.html

    Disable DEP in Vista:

    1. Click Start
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Accessories
    4. Right Click on Command Prompt
    5. Left click on Run as Administrator
    6. Click the Allow button if it asks you for permission
    7. Type or copy and paste this into the command prompt window:

    bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

    8. Hit enter and you should see the confirmation: Operation Completed Successfully
    9. Reboot and DEP should be off.

I haven't tried yet but people says that works.
    Give a try

Amen. One of the best games ive played in a long time. Up there with the greats like HL2 and WC3, in my opinion.

Will it run with Virtual PC?

Also, if you like Homeworld 2 then pick up Sins of a Solar Empire. It's a cross between HW2 and Galactic Civilizations 2.

Yes Sins is a great game and is getting a lot of good reviews. I played Homeworld, but not HW2 since I read that it couldn't be played on vista....but now that I see there is a way to make it work I'm buying it and playing it.
