I'm sure you've all read the Tech Report on the drivers. Though I think it's a miniscule issue, but Tech Report seemed to think it was real important. Whatever, AMD has announced a few updates incoming, that are great for GCN.

Expect up to 50% performance improvement in FC3 soon. Seems Ubisoft really dropped the ball considering it's an AMD Evolved title, AMD has to once again clean up after Ubisoft.

As for the Tech Report, I don't really care since the games they tested were either Nvidia money bag game (Borderlands 2) or a terribly ported console game (Skyrim). But typical of both AMD and Nvidia, they don't get things done unless they receive bad press (AMD) or get sued (Nvidia). AMD has bad press and will release something to fix that.

A rewrite on the memory management. Wow, whoever is in management for AMD Graphics drivers needs a swift kick to the head, make that dozens of swift kicks to the head. It's taken AMD over a year to decide to release driver overhaul on the memory even though since inception, they have known GCN memory controller is different than previous.

Oh well, no use flaming or ranting. Just be happy these updates are coming. I personally think Ubisoft is a lost cause and hope they just die. But I look forward to the memory driver overhaul.

How so? I was watching my wife play it on 360 while I was doing a marathon of it on my laptop, I'd take the PC version any day it was far and away better looking and the control was great with wired 360 controller.

Still best TES was Morrowind obviously, but Skyrim was plenty fun and in my experience ran great and seemed devoid of any major problems.

What's the timeframe on this? I'm still waiting for a solid driver release to replace my 7970M drivers from March 2012.

It's pretty great how quoted you entire thing making sure that even when the admins deleted the account the spam would still be preserved!

Both Far Cry 3 and Skyrim already run great at 1080p on my three-year old laptop. I noticed a little improvement with FC3 upgrading to Catalyst 12.11 Beta11, but not much. The only time FC3 lags is in cut scenes.

lol I guess I shouldn't have done that, I was just amazed at how ridiculous the spam sounded. Seriously, say it out loud to yourself: Hot Gangnam Style Dancing Shaped U Disk USB Flash Memory Drive 4GB! lulz.

Are you using the beta11? They're stable for me. I haven't had a BSOD since before 12.11P.

I remember when spammers were using rhymes-with-torn to trick people. What's the world coming to?

Nah, I don't want to mess with betas. I'm waiting for something that AMD deems release worthy.

They are release worthy. The Betas are the same as the previous monthly drivers. The monthly just had WHQL, so they will only bother with WHQL whenever they feel like it. Really that's the only difference between the Beta and WHQL now, especially since AMD opted to not do monthly drivers anymore.
