I downloaded the the Doom 3 (800x600) demo and when I play it I seem to get these horizontal lines going across the middle of my screen, it is very hard to explain, but it's kinda like maybe my screen is not refreahing fast enough maybe? It isn't just doom either it also happend to me while I was palying Morrowind, but not while I play Civ IV.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Also is there a free progam that I can download to take a video of my screen while I play so I could possibly show the problem better?

EDIT: just thought of another way to explain it, it's like when you are watching TV and the singal doesn't come in right and the screen gets wavy and has those lines except its just when im moving in the game and just in the middle of the screen....

Download FRAPS, it allows you to record a video I believe. Also, make sure you have the latest Catalyst or Omega drivers.

Turn on VSync , it could image tearing.

Are you getting over 60 frames per second in the game.

it does sound like image tearing. In the video settings for the game you should find the option to turn VSync on. This will cap your FPS for the game, but it will get rid of the horizontal lines.

For an explanation of VSync AND of image tearing, follow this link:

Tearing only happens when you get FPS higher than your screen refresh rate.
