So I got my awesome new Dell yesterday with its awesome 7900gs which (so far) has performed amazingly well on it's stock drivers. Well, today I decided, "Hmm, I think I'll run 3dMark to see if my score is really as good as it's supposed to be". So I ran 3dMark05, and from what I've been reading, 6500 (give or take 100) is a pretty decent score for a stock e1705. So after gloating to myself and others that "My graphics card rawks!", I decided to run it again, but this time, I would set I8kfangui to full blast. "Houh?!" was my response when I saw that, where I got an fps in the mid to high 30s, I was now getting an fps IN THE SINGLE DIGITS. What the heck? I didn't even do anything besides shutting down and starting up again. Only a few hours passed between the tests. I even turned all the Vista visual crap off and ended all unnecessary apps. Please help.

Okay, a restart fixed this. I guess I ran the "make my computer suck" utility by accident. This time it never dropped below 11 (save for the software rendering portion) and got all the way up to 42 in some parts. I was wrong actually, my score is only 5760, guess I should update that driver (too bad nVidia still doesn't support my card for Vista!). Whatever.
Houh?! Lower 3dMark performance for no apparent reason.
