I changed my config and it's nice to know more precisely what your ping is. Still not as well as in the other games, but an improvement nonetheless.
-
and the point of this is what?
-
You don't necessarily have to use it to tell who's hosting. It just gives you a more precise idea of what your ping is.
-
I still don't get the point. You cant change anything knowing this
-
-
your title is misleading lol.
your title mentions how you can find out who the host is, yet you only provide information on how to make your ping/latency seem more accurate. -
-
Sorry not sure you don't get this? Obviously the game doesnt allow you to see the ping in the lobby, but you can see it in-game, and most likely the higest ping will be the host. The title is not misleading what-so-ever. This makes it more accurate and then you can tell for sure.
-
I get the concept. It would just be better if the game had a vote new host option so we could vote for the lowest ping player to host rather than just sit there and say "Oh look there's the player who's a bad host. Too bad we can't do anything but leave or suffer"
-
One question though, do the PS3 and Xbox 360 have the same game server setup? Seems odd that a console would be able to serve that many players.
-
>.> as far as I know its the same, I think you have it backwards, its odd that pc's are stuck with so few players lol.
-
They've been using that matchmaking system for years
-
Yup, the pc's is the exact same as well.
-
just correcting a mistake highest bars = lowest ping...
-
I just tried this, it works pretty well. On the default 4-bar system, sometimes half the players would have all 4 bars, so telling who was host was pretty difficult. With the 10 bars at 20ms each, you can tell pretty much 100% of the time, since anyone with all 10 bars has a ping under 20ms, which pretty much only ever happens to the host.

Cool, now I can rage at the host when a game starts to lag! Thanks!
