IT will play need for speed carbon at really sweet settings, and battlefield 2142 at really nice settings as well
UT3/UT2K7 will depend on when its actually played...hence when its out -
go to this site to check out whether or not your computer can play the games you want whenever you want:

Also, check this site out. You will be able to game pretty nicely with that machine. Enjoy!

NFS:Carbon is hard game for performances(not optimized for weaker computers at all, full **** of game),but it will go on medium/high settings on your lap.It won't be any problems with Battlefield and UT(except the highest settings).

Oh this is funny...'Site requires IE6'...I have IE7 and it doesn't work. Silly Microsoft...things are actually supposed to work when you improve them...

I have similar specs and play BF2142, all settings on medium and 1024x768 resolution, at about 40-50fps.
-
30 fps are enough for excelent playing experience(without "cutting" or lag),why don't you set settings higher?
-
Why are you running at that 4:3 resolution, when you should be playing it at your native 1280x800 ??!?
It makes no sense to me why some people still dont run games at native resolution on widescreen LCDs.
It looks much better (being "pixel perfect") and the performance should still be the same. -

BF2142 should run great at 1280*800 with medium-high settings. Carbon is a bad coded game, so it is possible you will have low fps. But it is not the fault of your notebook, but the fault of EA. UT2007 is a real next gen game, and we can t tell how it will run.

i run css and bf2 as well as fear in regualr 1024x768 (fear at 640x480) or else i lose around 10 fps and it sucks to do that, plus bf2 doesnt go in wide screen mode. Sadly i havnt found any rts games that do wide screen yet so they all run in 1024x768 -
Because it really drops in intense firefights, I prefer to have it drop to 30 rather than from 30.
Because that's the closest setting that I could find to my native resolution.
Is there a way to get it to 1280x800? -
I have a core duo 2.0GHz CPU, 1GB 533MHz RAM and a 256MB ATI RADEON x1400.
What kind of setting can I expect to play at for NFS Carbon?
also when I go here
www.systemrequirementslab.com
it says that I can go to this free driver update, but I can't find it.
