How can i tell if i can or should update my ATI x1270 integrated drivers? I hear doing that improves performance greatly. I know it's integrated and definately limited in it's capabilities, but how do you find out if this is an option, and if so, if it'd improve performance? I went to laptopvideo2go.com but didn't understand which drivers were for what, and if it even benefitted the ATI x1270.

You always should update your drivers. You know if you can by going into catalyst center and finding it out. You'll never have the most up to date drivers, so get to it.

laptopvideo2go is for Nvidia, so go on ATI. Yes, drivers make a difference.

Okay i went on ATI's website and see where you can get the most recent drivers. Looking at them though, they only have the integrated models of: x1200 and x1250. I have x1270, so i shouldnt do either of those should i? Hmm but they dont have x1270 listed. Suggestions?

The catalyst is updated every month and have the version with Y.M, so the newest version should be 8.10 or 8.9

I downloaded the X1250 drivers. When I went to install them, the program said that the drivers were up to date on my computer (version 3.383.1.0). now what?

I tried to Omega drivers, but since my laptop has Vista, it didnt work. And when I uninstalled them and restarted my computer, it wouldnt restart so it had to go back and restore from a previous point

The only driver update I can actually recommend that I used is going to gateway.com/support and look up the model number, and download and install their most recent video driver (released on 10/5/2007 according to the website). Maybe that helps (and more RAM)
