I would like to be able to play games like Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War and Need for Speed on my laptop. What do i need to do to upgrade my Presario V5000 or do i need to buy a laptop with the specs?

What are the specs and have you tried running any of the mentioned games on it?

Well, the main thing you need is a better Graphics card, which is un-upgradable.

So, you will need to purchase a new notebook. If interested please fill out the Faq for recommendations. ;)

@Willy S : It has an ATI Mobility Xpress 200M.

    Ok so pretty poor:\

    I'd give the halo demo a shot on low settings @ 800 x 600.

Halo (original) runs pretty much medium-high settings on 1280x800 on X200M.
